*gm* has so many haters who thought they were a joke when they announced _Ultium._ Now those people are eating crow as they redefine what American luxury is and tackle the fully electric market with banger after banger. This thing looks more like a Cadillac Escalade _IQ_ than it does a stretched Lyriq and that was the correct way to execute this model. This is the true baby Escalade and the attention to detail is greatly appreciated. Tesla, Stellantis, and Ford can’t even compete with these folks in design language. Cadillac has left them all in the dust.
Even though this new Cadillac mystic is still not production ready I feel like it looks super good but yes some of the information is not known at this time because it's too early to know what the exact dimensions will be.
@@ThomasJacobz No they aren’t. This ain’t Ford Motors, so I’m not sure where you got that information from. *gm* invested way more research & money into the development of _Ultium_ to ensure they wouldn’t lose money on each model they built compared to Ford’s approach of a ICE F-150’s chassis being converted to a ‘Lightning’ to save the manufacturer costs. It’s the reason competitors like Ford and Stellantis were forced to go back to the drawing board and are following *gm’s* lead with bespoke EVs to compete with the likes of the Silverado EV, Sierra EV, and GMC Hummer twins. Ford realized attempting to convert ICE trucks into EVs gets costly, so much so that the automaker loses out on profits anyway. Honda has also come to *gm* in hopes of having a formidable competitor in this space from Japan when they could’ve easily gone to Tesla instead. No, _you’re_ “still a joke” as you’re obviously one of those *gm* naysayers I mentioned earlier that are now forced to eat crow. It’s becoming more obvious _Cadillac_ has surpassed all of their competition in the EV space. That’s why the Japanese are running to old hybrid technology to combat the EV market where they have no real answers. Meanwhile *gm* has doubled down releasing new EV models and improving upon the ones that have already been available since Ultium’s launch.
ultium kind of is a joke, we just bought a lyriq and they told us it would do 25% less range in the winter, when its actually closer to 50% less range, we usually get 2.5km/kwh with one pedal drive on high, and no heating on, its crazy especially considering the mercedes eqs can can do double the max range of the lyriq with a battery pack thats only 20% bigger
It’s flooring how much GM has progressed in a decade! The interiors went from old man/rental car to spaceship. They’re really blowing away the other Big Two. Beautiful car ❤
@ remember the Lyriq outsold every EV from the Germans in the 3rd quarter. They are not just blowing away the other two big American brands, they are catching up and beginning to surpass the German Big 3. Who knows by time the World Cup comes to the US in 2026 Cadillac will once again be a big time global player. They are already winning over Europe with the Lyriq as they won the Car of the Year Award in Germany.
Great looking vehicle. I’ve had an EV now for a year, so my ICE sports car is a weekend cruiser now. I’ll never go back to an ICE vehicle for my daily…EV is quiet, low cost to drive, no maintenance issues, and comfortable.
For sure! Cadillac is known for its luxury vehicles, and they’ve got a long history in the automotive world. Models like the Escalade are super popular, especially for their style and comfort. Plus, they’re always pushing the envelope with tech features.
The youngest Escalade brother are getting to the next level flagship segment the way it looks is so elegant and pure electric vehicle. Nice one keep it up and God bless you two brothers. Maybe will it compare some other brand? 🤔😀
Cadillacs new vehicles are stunning! I’ve seen a few in person and they are so much nicer and better than any Tesla or automaker. So nice to have the displays built in not a giant iPad monitor type bolted to the front dash.
The range will be 300 miles, I googled it. It’s just very disappointing since I like this car but it is not practical for long rides with the family. With such a big car, you will not go for grocery shopping. It should be used for longer distances but with a 300 miles range, you will have range anxiety, checking every 250 miles for a charging station. It’s a deal breaker. It’s a nice car though. 450 miles range is a must. So I go with the IQ I suppose.
Thanks for the sneak peek! I like it. I like the artfully executed grill area instead of a flat sealed panel. I also like the dash screen and how clearly information is presented. I really like the backend and I wish all turn signals were amber and high mounted. Thanks, guys!
Great to see the B-pillar vents in the 2nd row as the Lyriq only has the center vents and they're woefully inadequate on really hot days. Beautiful car.
Most won't know the difference between this and the escalade. But it will be significantly less in cost. Give this a year or two of depreciation, and I would love to buy.
I like this vehicle, but do not understand the etched glass in the rear pillar. I wonder if you could order one w/o it. I saw in another RUclips video that an IQ had Apple Car Play. I didn't see it on this vehicle, but maybe because it's a demo (the IQ was in a dealer showroom). This would be the only America vehicle I would buy.
This will not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto since none of the General Motors EVs have those systems. We haven't heard anything about the etched glass being optional but we will know more once this gets closer to its on-sale date
For those who want luxury 3 rows and not body on frame, this is not a bad option What kind of engine do you get? I do like that the Escalade comes-in a reliable V8. My guess is based on similar morels i am guessing between $70,000-$$90,000 and the platinum might be closer to $100,000. Too much new but if you just wait 3 to 4 years it’ll be affordable at least it’ll be in the $40-$50,000 range
Beautiful, but that weird pattern on the back windows Will stand out like an eyesore as it accentuates even the teeny tiniest layer of dust on the vehicle
GM is about to roll out a fleet of EV Junk like they did with ICE vehicles. 1. Pontiac G6 (2010) 2. Chevrolet Impala (2020) 3. Cadillac CTS (2019) 4. Buick Verano (2017) 5. Chevrolet Cruze (2019) 6. Chevrolet Volt (2019) 7. Hummer H3 (2010) 8. Pontiac Solstice (2010) 9. Saturn Aura (2009) 10. Chevrolet Sonic (2020)
I hate the light designs on the new Cadillac EVs. The top lights that curve under the glass, should be curved at the top of the bigger light leaving that light straight up to the roofline. Oh, and make the turn indicator amber, like the Escalade.
I’m glad Cadillac is naming their cars again instead the stupid German like letter/number scheme. But who the hell is in charge of naming their cars? Vistiq?! You have a ton of heritage names to choose from.
Everything is great, except it’s electric and way more expensive than the XT6 it will replace. While this vehicle will work for some, it won’t work for most. As a current owner of a 2023 XT6 and a previous owner of a plug in electric hybrid, I can attest. First off the range: max range is 300 miles. That is in perfect world which doesn’t exist outside of CA and FL with grandma driving. Put this car in a northeast winter at 20F with real world driving and you’re looking at a 200 mile range AT BEST. Now my family of 4 like to take at least one trip a year from NY to FL. A 200 mile range will barely make it to Washington DC. Then we would need to charge for several hours, provided we can even find an available working charger on our route. This will add approximately one full day to our normal 2 day trip with overnight sleep break. And for that privilege I get to pay another $15k over my XT6. No thanks. Next car to replace our XT6 will be a gasoline powered GMC Acadia Denali, not an electric Cadillac. I’m glad I bought my CT5-V Blackwing while they are still available. Cadillac going all in on electric by 2030 might very well be the end of them.
I honestly want to see the return of Cadillac STS…. With an ENGINE not a damn EV. Give it a standard 4.0TT V8 from the discontinued CT6 V but making 600+ horsepower. That will differentiate it from the CT5 that has 2.0 and 3.0 engines. Make it a foot longer than it was before discontinuation back in 2011. Now that would put it on S-Class, A8, 7 Series ally but priced as a top tier E Class. I’m sick of all these EVs and SUVs . I’m even sicker of SUVs that are EVs.
Just replace the front “grill” with a monitor that can play anything, video games and youtube, maybe. BTW, stop saying WHAT’S GOING ON RUclips. Everyone says that and it’s losing its affect.
Is electric? That’s enough!! Im sorry brother but im not interested in anything the is electric!!! American carmakers will fall for good!!! The end is near cause nobody will buy them!!!!
