Great video, dude! really appreciate you talking about this band in such length. I definitely have some more albums to listen to after this episode. Thank you!
you should check out their first two demo tapes called The Warner Bros Album and B.S., they have a very chaotic feeling to them and are very interesting to listen to
Eskimo is really a fantastic piece of Art. After many years, once I got older I realized that it's a unique, Great, Perfect piece of Art. I just close my eyes and I am there. It is like teletransportación of the spirit, at least for me. It is magical. And Not Available is maybe the one with whom I feel more empathy. But it is music. Eskimo is not music, it's a sort of time machine or a teletransportación device,. I would not know which one put first Meet The Residents is Great ! All their music aknowledge the existence of Spirit and plays with one spirit pulling and pushing and tickling it.
Anybody who likes The Residents enough to make ranking videos for their catalog is alright with me! LOL! Great video. My ranking: 1. Fingerprince 2. Eskimo 3. Duck Stab 4. Meet The Residents 5. Not Available 6. Third Reich N Roll
EVERY ONE OF THESE ALBUMS IS PERFECT HONESTLY! So even #6 is a 10/10! The best band ever!!!! 6. Third Reich N Roll 5. Duck Stab/Buster And Glenn 4. Eskimo 3. Meet The Residents 2. Fingerprince 1. Not Available
Nice reviews yaaaaaay. Can't wait to see what sense you make of subsequent increasingly messy decades. As someone else referenced would love to have heard what you think of WS/B.S. aka Nickel if your Dicks this Big - for they are absolutely the epicentre of taste and beauty. But just can't wait til the eighties one. Ps Fingerprince rules.
This is going to get complicated when we get into the 2000's and 2010's. :-) Looking forward to that. I'd go: 6. Duck Stab 5. Meet the Residents 4. Eskimo 3. Third Reich 2. Fingerprince 1. Not Available
The Residents were mysterious for a long tine, but re the ID crisis we're "hardly foxed" now. Over time I've become more impatient with musical Where's Wally puzzles - so I certainly don't rate 3RnR higher than Meet The Residents. 29 min mark: And now in many African countries they have myths about the two monsters that come down from the sky and steal children - be afraid, kids, be very afraid, of Madonna and Elton. 30 min mark: Now I have to wonder, is he familiar with Bjork when she was in Kukl?
6. Duck Stab 5. Meet The Residents 4. Third Reich 3 Eskimo 2 Fingerprince 1 Not Available Love and respect their Anonymity but I do know Eric Drew Feldman has a strong connection with Residents and Snakefinger Zappa connection Residents Uninc did a version of King Kong
Had fun watching this! Did you know that Don Preston (Mothers) plays synthesizer on Eskimo?
I did not until I made this video. Thanks!!!!

I still can’t believe 1 group made all this genius music in 6 or 7 years. Superhuman explosion of creativity.

Chris Cutler does the percussion on Eskimo. He is well talented. Check out the Art Bears if you've not done.

Zappa connection
Residents Uninc did a version of King Kong
Snamkefinger played guitar on King Kong and it is as good anything on Uncle Meat
Sound like MOI and maybe Lick My Decals instrumentals
duck stab / buster & glen way too low, but the other rankings are spot on...
Its a great starting point for The Residents, but imho an album im tired of listening to
Huh. Duck stab is usually higher on people's lists. Interesting
Don Preston plays on Eskimo
What’s next GWAR ?
