Harris' Ring of Fire is a great alternative to brazing rod for any brazing project. It is easy to use and gives a consistent braze every time. The Ring of Fire has the same formulation, testing and standards as the Harris signature Stay-Silv® 15 (15% silver alloy) in a convenient ring form.

Have you used these on service valves of an air conditioner unit? Worry that the heat transfer would be to much for the valves.

Ring of Fire is Stay Silv 15 brazing filler metal in a ring form. This allows you to preplace the ring in the connection and helps ensure full braze penetration through the joint. The melting point of the rings is the same as Stay Silv 15 so the standard recommendation for how to braze service valves would apply. We recommend the valve be wrapped with a wet rag, or use some type thermal barrier, to protect heat sensitive parts inside the valve.
