Oh! Those “In this issue” cards are covers and alternate covers of adventure time comics series! They were a very much fun read and the art is always great!
I remember buying my first Adventure Time comic from a school book fair. It was the second volume in the series, "where spoilers, " Finn and Jake take PB's time machine and go to a dystopian future.
I had no idea these existed!!!!! Wish they promoted them more when they were in production I would’ve bought a ton!!! Thanks for showing off how cool it is!!
Possibly stupid, but the RUclipsr "Scott the Woz" did a trading card merch drop for his annual charity event, and my first thought was this channel. Not that much you could really "review", but could be an interesting addition to your collection.
@@niutuiui9741 I mean, fair, but Foafy did just say he dropped $500 on Adventure Time cards that be didn't really look at beforehand. Plus it is for charity.
Just as a side note, most of the cards that say "In this issue" are derived from the unused comic book covers you would usually find in the back of the adventure time comic books.
I actually own a good amount of the adventure time comics and I can say that the cards with the “in this issue” things have art from the cover gallery section of the comics, a section at the end of the comic with just a ton of art!
Actually those pieces of art in the section at the end are varient covers which are usually somewhat rarer different covers on the same issue which replace the original cover
I actually used to play the App Version of Card Wars. It's... interesting. Maybe opening the packs would be interesting if there's an addendum video on the main channel where you try to play the physical game. That honestly sounds like something that would fit on the main channel, and it'd lead more people here.
3:31 when i was in elementary school, i bought an adventure time comic book at the school book fair, and at the end of the book there was featured section for fan art. i remember this being one of the drawings that were featured! :,)
Yeah! They mostly do sets for popular anime and games (with lots of Bushiroad projects because, i mean come on it is a Bushiroad card game) but it IS a card game that you can actually play if you can find someone who's willing to play (the card game even has tournaments!) I can tell you more about it later or you can just read the TVTropes or Wikipedia pages. the Adventure Time cards are exclusive to the English version though so keep that in mind. Good luck!
If you're using the cards as actual trading cards I think the whole make your own fan art would be a pretty cool idea. Imagine trading a duplicate your art friend wants for their REALLY GOOD adventure time fan art. But as a collectors item, draw your own fan art is indeed a cop out. But your drawing of Finn was pretty good imo. :)
The large, long, severely audible gasp that left me when seeing the BMO card.... I'm gobsmacked. This pack is sO CUTE. Also a mr clean eraser will clean your mat up!!
Love card wars. One of my favorite board games. I literally have everything they sold. The idea is essentially you are playing a character from the show using their deck. They also released a hero pack that gave you a character cards with a special ability to use throughout the game. You can make a deck from the booster box, you just need landscape and damage counters from the base game.
This was awesome! Never knew this existed but would totally collect if it was still out. The artist and signature cards are super cool! And I like your art, nice doodle! 👏
This brought back so much memories! I remember getting the holiday packs when I was a kid. I was expecting them to be a trading card game 😅 so I was very confused to find just random art/title cards instead. I still loved them but they were definitely obscure in the card aisle compared to the other trading cards
Cause he probably suffers just by existing, that entity is mentally disturbed beyond any repair (as one of the episodes left quite clear considering the things he did)
The “In This Issue” cards are artworks that were put at the end of adventure time comics. I used to have a couple comics so I remembered and recognized a lot of the cards you got!
There’s actually a card wars APP that I used to play a LOT back in the day. It was one of my main games. I dont know if it’s still available on the App Store, it would suck if it was, cause that would mean a huge part of my childhood has been wiped off the face of the earth ( actually sounds a lot like Warner bros discovery, tbh )
I'm sorry to say but both versions of Card Wars (I'm not sure which one your referencing as there was card wars and card wars kingdoms) were removed off the app store awhile ago by CN. Although if interested I have heard ways of finding versions that run on phone emulators on PC
Adventure time card wars used to be a mobile game and I absolutely loved that game, for whatever reason it got shut down and they tried to make a new one but it got shut down again. Really wish i could still play the original game
Always thought that Card Wars was the only card collectible AT had. I remember playing the ios game of Card Wars. I'd watch an opening of Card Wars, there's many weird and wonderful spells and creatures.
I remember playing a mobile game version of Card Wars on my old tablet and it was extremely fun. Hopefully you’ll do some stuff relating to the Card Wars stuff in a video soon because the game can be really fun
I love card wars so much! I used to play on the app a ton and bought irl booster boxes and playing sets I even made my own version of the game with my cousin with thousands of our own cards Would love to see an opening of card wars!
In the first pack you open there was a card that had some different graphic novels on the back of it. I'm pretty sure that card is just a comic book cover as a trading card. I used to read the Adventure Time comic books, and that is very reminiscent of the art style.
I had the actual Card Wars game (idk how I got it), and tried playing it with my dad. It was probably the hardest, most confusing thing I've ever tried to play. We would figure it out once, and then completely forget what to do. The cards were super cool, but I ended up getting rid of it because the game was super confusing. Now I wish I hadn't since the cards probably aren't being produced anymore
Card wars is actually really fun. Definitely recommend giving the game a go and opening the booster packs after. That way you have some understanding of the game

18:37 card is by japense artist gashi gashi. i loved his work back in the day. he worked on key art for the game nefarious and still posts art to this day. give him a follow if you can if you like the anime looking card.
Honestly? If Adventure Time cards had been promoted properly then anyone famous who drew on and signed the fan art card would maybe be able to make money off it. But anyways, as an artist and kid at heart, i really love that fanart card being included. It would make me feel so happy
I had a Adventure time calendar a few many years ago and it looked really nice the art on them reminds me other those “in this issue” cards. Maybe you could look at those sometime?
I've played all three versions of Card Wars: mobile app, physical, then the second mobile app. The mobile games were kind of trippy because they'd be the same creatures and spells but they all had different effects and stats. I would probably still play either version if I could make the apks work right without the servers. I was kind of enamored with the archetypes we never got to explore the lore of, in particular I liked building wodeblood decks and mixed color decks once I had enough. I had several of the sets that came with character themed decks, but I honestly had no idea there were boosters.
Seeing how badly these cards were cut down during production is pretty disappointing, because so many of them have printing from a different card on a small bit of an edge
I like the classic "super hero comics card" style, that feature not only know media but books, comics, alt stories, and speciarl art features, love see the episodes titles arts also being featured. is nice see all type of media relaed to the series than just screen shots. nice card colection.
