I was out looking for Gary Numan albums in Camden with my brother. I saw this in a vinyl shop, but didn’t recognise the song so didn’t buy it. HOW STUPID OF ME! It’s a fantastic song!!!!

I met Gary Numan several times once I told him (because he lives down in Hollywood) I said never sing with an American accent you’ll lose who you are & he just laughed.
One should keep in mind,that after the huge+outstanding BERSERKER album of 1984, just one year later THE FURY was released !!
And of course again there is a change of sound + so on ...
But its a very good Numan album with some hits on it ...
Luckily Ive had a great record store around in that days+ i still have an vinyl 12 in orange of that track !!

I agree, people talk like it’s way worse than it actually is. Had this song received proper airplay it would have been a massive hit. Same for Call Out The Dogs.
Love this song. LOL, back in the day, my friend and I were listening to it in my room while we were playing vidya games..and we kept joking about how it sounded like he was saying, "NO MORE B***ES, for now, now, now~" lmao So we'd keep singing it like that.

Was Gary Numan's girlfriend, Tracey Adam, in the adult industry? I've long-wondered whether this line was perhaps a reflection of the adult film industry circa mid-80s, which would make some sense as, for example, Traci Lords was working underage in the industry at the time; and I guess those within the industry (like other actresses) may well have known that some of the girls weren't yet even in the 'barely legal' category.
