Thank you for uploading the video! I am a graduate of Akashikita High School Music Club. I am proud of the bravery of my alma mater in the Rose Parade. Unfortunately, the advisor has changed, the number of members has decreased, and the club no longer has the same momentum. I am no longer able to participate in contests held domestically. Still, students who love and enjoy music practice every day. I sincerely hope that someday, we will return to being a world-class band like this one. So now we have a good idea of what it's like to actually take part in the Rose Parade and my feet are killing me! Akashikita doing themselves, The GBA and Japan proud with their Impeccable performance - I gather that many bands are going through the motions by the time they reach the latter stages, but Akashikita, like all Green Bands are as sharp and on point on the last steps as they were at the first. They can look back on their adventure with justifiable pride in a job Well Done - BRAVO!!!
Spot on Jay The song sheet is long and varied with music of the time in America ( very clever) And have we noticed over the last 10 years or so the lady chaperones are alway the same👍 What an amazing experience they have had marching with all those bands and enjoying the adulation that bands are receiving over that five and half miles, good job to them too Domo Arigato Nippon
I'm sorry but on an occasion like this it takes a Japanese band to entertain and make the crowd feel a part of the experience. I've watched most of them on You Tube and they kill it
Yokoyama-sensei . is he the DM here in the parade? He worked with a lot of bands, like Kyoto Tachibana , Izumo Business school band and several other Green bands. I seen him helping with O-vils , former KT and other band members in the band that Yuina Mita , KT former member started.
Yes he is. He is actually the Music director of the GBA that's why we can always see him in the Tour programs of the GBA including the Rose Parade. He is also the reason why Japanese marching bands stand out in the Rose Parade in a Humorous and fun ways.

In terms of sound, it's perfect!!! They are one of the best Japanese marching bands ever sent to the Rose Parade!! I also give them 10+!!! 💯💯💯
毎年ローズを追って居るんですね。其々の日本のマーチングが見れて嬉しいです。
又其処には横山氏が何時も先頭にたち先導してる姿も
横山氏が吹奏楽を愛してるのが分かります。
こうして見てると贔屓目では無いのですが、矢張橘の制服は可愛いなと思います海外を含めて今まで何処のチームにも無かった。ミニスカートで然もオレンジと言う斬新なスタイルと演奏は、一目瞭然に成のは当然なのかと思わせます。
又全体を通して日本は明るくて元気があります。
演奏だけでなくカラーガードにも力を感じます。
唯何処のチームにも遠征や楽器等にお金が掛かるのが大変だと、親御さんに取っても可愛い子供達の夢を叶えるために、大変な努力が有るのだと感じました。
出来れば楽器をせいぞうするメーカーも、もっと丈夫で安くて軽いのを作って欲しいです。

色んなチームのローズパレード観てきたけど、音質はピカイチ！
京都橘→東邦と観て来ましたが、そうですね。音楽弩級素人のワテクシにも判ります。
んでも、日本の高校生バンドは何れも素晴らしいから、ローズパレードの半分くらいは日本の高校生バンドで良かないっスか？ 半分なんは音が被らないように間隔を空ける為にだけ(希)(感)
