2. Preventing Khalid to be made a cult figure among his soldiers, so Muslims will always remember that victory came mainly from Allah, and not only from Khalid's leadership

The reason why Caliph Umar demoted Khalid was because at that time, the muslim soldiers began thinking that the reason of their victories was due to Khalid, not because of the God's grace upon them. For Umar, this was a problem because this might weaken the soldiers' faith towards the god and would lead them towards a cult of personality which is forbidden in Islam. Therefore, he demoted Khalid to teach the muslims that even without Khalid, they could still achieve victory if the God wills it for them.
Khalid, upon knowing the true reason behind his demotion, accepted this decision sincerely and continued to fight under the command of his former adjutant, who was now promoted as the commander.

It must've been scary for the Sassanids. There's an inhospitable desert towards the southwestern edge of your borders, a place no one has managed to subjugate ever since the dawn of civilization itself, not even your Sumerian, Babylonian or Assyrian ancestors. They've all kept closely to the fertile crescent. The Arabian desert is just a sea of emptiness and very small trading tribes.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, an army of men on horseback, waving black and green flags, chanting a new religion comes knocking at your doorstep and almost effortlessly crushes your army. Before long, your civilization is completely wiped off the map.
The Sassanids were well aware the Arabs existed. In the North the Ghassanids(Byzantine ally) and Lakhmids(Sassanid ally) were two rival confedrations of Arabs. In fhe very south, Yemen was actually under control of the Sassanid empire for some type and it was thriugh Yemen the Iranians had contacts with Aksum. And Iranian civilization was never wiped of the map, it still exists, can't say the same for the ancient Mesopotamians or Egyptians

@@jackal25301 he is wrong to call the Assyrians,Babylonians and Sumerians ancestors of the Sassanids but Persian civilization was heavily influences by the ones before them. Nah, if the civ got wiped it would be like what happened to the native americans. What happened there was the local civ got assimilated so much until it gained distinct differences.

Khalid ibn Walid r.a, the sword of Allah. What an absolute unit
Khalid bin Al-Waleed spent most of his life fighting against Islam and the Prophet (SAWA) since he was in Makkah till he surrendered to Muslims. Khalid bin Al-Waleed fought against Islam in the battle of Badr and was captured by Muslims ( according to the famous Sunni historian Al-Waaqidi). He fought against Islam in the battle of Uhud and caused a disaster for Muslims. Even after he was forced to surrender to Muslims, he committed crimes which made the Prophet openly dis-associate himself from the acts of Khalid. (Saheeh Al-Bukhari; 7189).
Khalid ibn Al-Waleed was sent by his friend Abu Bakr to fight against Malik bin Nowairah who was a pious companion appointed by the Prophet to collect the Islamic dues from his tribe Bani Tamim. Khalid despite knowing that Malik bin Nowairah was a Muslim,he killed him and took and slept with his wife on the same night which is a crime against basic rules of Islam. Omar ibn Al-Khattab called Khalid: O enemy of Allah, you killed a Muslim man then slept with his wife. I will stone you. (Tareekh Al-Tabari 2:504 and Al-Kaamil by Ibn Al-Atheer 2:359).
First of all, your reply is copy pasted from a shia website 💀
Battle of Uhud was a loss because the men disobeyed the Prophet's commands and when they returned to their posts, they were defeated.
Yes, he did used to fight against the Muslims but Allaah has guided him and upon taking shahada, his past sins were all expiated. On top of that, he ended up having done more benefit to Islam than harm in future.
@@yarsaz4347 About Malik bin Nowairah, Omar (radhi allahu anhu) changed his mind from "O enemy of Allah..." to thinking that Malik bin Nowairah got what he deserved. you cannot compare their situations. The rashidun was far better off than the romans and byzantines were.
@@_greenrunner_ His fanboys will never admit that he capitalized on states that were already failing.
@@_greenrunner_ Yes you can compare. Because the rashidun weren’t centralised, didn’t have a strong economy, didn’t have a lot of manpower, military experience/technology. So after they fought multiple civil wars this only made it even worst. Their opponents the romans and Persians. Had fought multiple wars in their histories and by that point were adapted to recover from war (because how else would they survive 600 years). They had an strong economy to rebuild their fortifications, they had manpower (their population was both 20 million + ), and had the perfect experience. So the rashiduns if anything were even weaker than the romans and Persians getting into the war.
It’s very common for westerners to use excuse to try to explain their ancestors losses. But history is clear and evident.
@Emil Fontanot In the ridda wars the Muslims lost all of Arabia except the hejaz region to rebels. So they had to reconquer it again. Which exhausted them unnecessarily
@Emil Fontanot Ok but you don’t understand. It was already theirs before and they lost it and had to reconquer it. It’s basically how romans had to retake their lands from the Persians. The only difference is that the Muslims already had low manpower at that time + the civil war only made it worst. Also contrary to the romans the Arabs had trash military logistics and weaponry.
Basically it’s like saying a war torn Afghanistan conquering 2 superpowers.

If you had been killed by an unbeliever it would have meant that Allah's sword had been broken by an enemy of Allah; and that could never be."
Addition to the last information: Khalid Ibn Al-Walid so successful in his campaign that many of his soldiers chanted that the victories were because of Khalid. Umar Ibn Al-Khattab, knowing that this might gonna rift the faith of the soldiers, then sent Bilal Ibn Rabbah (a black men, who's also a former slave), one of The Prophet's closest companion, to Khalid. Bilal brought Umar's message to Khalid, where Khalid must lay down on the ground and let Bilal step on his face. Showing that Khalid is nothing but a man, and not to be associated as someone who have some kind of divine power. But instead he's just a man whose been guided by Allah. And it's Allah Almighty alone that give him the support to win every campaigns he fought. Khalid, as pious man he is, put his head on the ground and let Bilal stepped on him. Proposing that he's just a man. Then he got demoted, or moved exactly, to other campaign, so his men would not think that all the victories were because of Khalid, but Allah's favors instead. Khalid Ibn Walid is basically Napoleon but unlike Napoleon he is more masculine, buff and a giga chad. Napoleon might have been a master general and able to control Half of europe but he couldnt really control his marriage while Khalid Ibn walid casually more than one wife also he was born and raised in the dessert while napoleon lived in cities.
Also napoleon wasn't up to his promises as he killed aka people while he was in middle east after he reassures them that he won't yet Khalid ibn Walid wasn't killing women kids elderly men or any one without weapon due to islam war rules
A tactical genius in the middle east, Umar ibn khattab demoted him as to show the world that it is not these generals that bring glory to islam, islam is complete and from god, and god grants victory to whomever he wills
If you think about it, most of the strongest Companions are the one who opposed Muhammad in their early life. Khalid bin Walid, Abu Sufyan, and Umar bin Khattab is the prime example.
And then there's Ali bin Abi Thalib, the calmest Companion, who lifted the 900 Kg gate...

it is said that in the the battle of mu'tah, khalid himself said that the battle was too intense that he broke a total of 9 swords until there is nothing but a yaman styled sword
Fucking hell dude, having the Divine blessing buffs are broken as fuck.
In his last days his body bore the marks of countless sword, arrow, and spear wounds, uttered his final words:”I have sought martyrdom in a hundred battles. Why could I not have died in battle?”
“You could not die in battle”, replied his friend. “You must understand that when the Messenger of Allah, on whom be the blessings of Allah and peace, named you Saifullah - the Sword of Allah, he predetermined that you would not fall in battle. If you had been killed by an unbeliever it would have meant that Allah’s sword had been broken by an enemy of Allah, and that could never be.”

@@maximusorbis2548 there are way better sources for Alexander's campaigns, most of the written sources for this era was written in Abbasid times and the issue is that they project the issues of their times onto this confusing period. So even though early Islam was more 'Abrahamic' than recognisably Muslim, they just call them all 'holy jihad warriors' or whatever and make up stories about heroic duels and comically inflated army sizes they overcame.
