I agree. I started getting Hercules 12v stuff hoping they would expand on the line more, but with them coming out with more Bauer stuff I'm highly considering switching to Bauer. Luckily I don't have very many Hercules tools yet so I didn't spend a whole lot on the line (plus I work for HF so I get a discount lol). If they come out with a 1/2" brushless impact wrench I'm definitely switching to Bauer.
Don’t worry they come out with some new sand paper lmao that’s all I see them coming out with. I bought Hercules also and had to buy craftsman just to expand my line to have more tool to count on. HF is pathetic with the Hercules line so far. They do have some nice tools but they took away the 20v brushless multi tool and haven’t really introduced anything since the impact wrenches.
I want to see the bauer brushless vs the herculees brushless now that herculees has their new brushless line. Im not sure the herculees brushless is any different than the bauer brushless, but that's why I would like to see them duke it out!
Well, everyone has their own criteria but personally Hercules were my first tools but by emergency I bought Bauer and believe me I was delighted with his tools only Bauer used and if I can remember that they are efficient tools but as I said everyone has their own criteria
I just bought the brushless half inch impact and because I bought the five milliamp battery and quick charger I got the quarter inch drive impact driver for free I bought the straight up 1/2 in drive impact just in case I get a flatter I got to pop a tire off but I got the little drill gun for free which was cool
I regretfully purchased a Hercules impact driver. I was not paying proper attention to what I was buying. I get home and take it out of the box and put the battery on the charger. Next day I tested it out. It work very well, yes it should it's brand new. But then I looked at it again and realized what I had purchased. It is not brushless. The price for the tool was $44.99, the charger was $34.99, 1 standard battery was $34.99 then I got $25 off at the register as per Hercules instore pricing. To be honest that's what drew me in. So $44.99 + $69.98minus the $25.00 = $89.97. That's a 20V system for $89.97 plus tax. For just $10 more, I should have purchased a Cobalt unit which included the charger and battery. The Cobalt is a 24v unit and it is brushless. I already had a impact driver that too was not brushless. It was a Porter Cable. I paid $99 for the combo back in 2017. I used it to install some wood shelves in the work shop. Thenit basically was not used much until I needed to replace our back deck. It died in the middle of putting down the actual decking. That's when I purchased the Hercules which it completed installing the decking. Yes it did that without a hitch. But I still regret not seeking out a brushless unit at that time. I already owned a 24v Cobalt Drill/Driver which is brushless. Actually, it was capable of driving the deck screws. But my old craftsman drill driver was near death so I replaced it with the Cobalt. I need to stay away from HF. I have an Ames multimeter that isn't any good at all. Too many bad experiences with their tools.
Nice review, I think I'll go with the Bauer but I guess the amp hour battery makes a difference in max power and not just run time? I just need an easier way to stake down 3/8 x 8 inch lag screws into the hard desert terrain to set up a tent. Also is that a ford falcon in the driveway.
I could be wrong, but I think when driving 8-10" lags you should be driving them into a block of wood at least as thick as the lag is long, not just through the wood. Maybe bolt 6X6 pieces together? or a tree stump
To make it a fair heads up they both should be brushed until Hercules releases the brushless line. With that said it was good to see how the brushless bauer performed. Thanks for taking your time to give us the preview.
Isn't Hercules supposed to be HF's top of the line cordless toolset? I'm more a fan of the Bauer line to be honest. Seems like the Bauer in this video outshined the Herc too.
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Just the information I've been looking for. I see that H-F has a clearance going to make room for new lines of tools. They have a nice price on the Earthquake XT cordless impact ($105) but that is one of the lines being phased out. So that leaves the choice between Hercules and Bauer. Bauer has been around a long time, too, and is also on clearance. I guess H-F wants to make Hercules their top line of cordless tools. But if old technology can beat the newer brushless motor Hercules then who wants it? Problem is, if I buy a tool line that's going to be phased out, then what do I do if the Bauer or Earthquake breaks? Even with an extended warranty, what will they offer if there is nothing to replace it with? I sure hate to buy the Hercules after seeing how the Bauer beat the pants off of it. Maybe if I talk to the local manager I can get some more insight on what to do.
The Bauer is here to stay😃 they are phasing out the brushed tools with brushless tools. The Bauer you saw is the new brushless. I hope this helps you.👍👌😃
@@dailydoseoftoolreviews I had to do a helluva lot of searching to find the new Bauer brushless impact wrenches. They aren't listed on my local Harbor Freight website nor could I find them on Amazon. I just happened to run across another RUclips video demonstrating the new brushless Bauer to believe it. I COULD still buy the brushed Bauer. The batteries are probably the same. If the tool went bad during the warranty period they would "probably" give me a credit towards one of the new brushless Bauers. I got my truck up on ramps and want to start dropping the tranny pan and differential cover soon. I'll have to ask the local H-F manager when he expects the new tools to come in. UPDATE - I just searched ALL OVER the Internet and eBay and Amazon and I cannot find any Bauer BRUSHLESS impact wrenches for sale. Where did you buy yours?
It's not an impact wrench, it's an impact driver😅 Hercules is coming out with 2 brushless impact wrenches, they were leaked and you can see the video that just came out on the den of tools channel👍😃
@@dailydoseoftoolreviews Well, after viewing some more RUclips videos, I went over to Lowes and bought a 1/2" Kobalt. All the Earthquake, Bauer and Hercules tools boast like 325 ft lbs of breakaway torque. Yet when guys on the videos torque some lug nuts down to 100 ft lbs, they can't bust them loose. When they used the new Kobalt brushless rated at only 200 ft lbs they would break away lug nuts torqued at over 200 ft lbs. And, oddly, the 1/2" and 3/8" impact wrenches were the same price ($ 90) and were about the same size and weight. So, I went with the 1/2". Plus Kobalt has a 5 year warranty on the tool and 3 years on the batteries AND they sell an additional multi-year warranty, too. Now I have more than the usual 90 day warranty of the Harbor Freight tools and the problem with tools being phased out with no replacements available and all for only about $ 100 more.
I've talked with several hf managers earthquakes quality was changing hf said nope so...as for Bauer it's not going anywhere for a long time just making room for Bauer and Hercules to step in a better quality control system hf can't drop Bauer they are spread to far and would probably kill the company besides Bauer is better then ryobi and b&d. My ten year old b&d out lasted ryobi burnt that 139$ drill like it was worthless probably been better off with a warrior lol my b&d 10inch saw is a beast 3 years and 5 cords later still ticking something to be said for " cheap tools"😎
Your test was poorly executed! You should have at least gone back and forth between drivers when driving the lag bolts. No way to notice the difference between tools the way you did a full row at a time with the same one.
I have the Bauer and it feels like holding a mini tank in my hand. The driver has never let me down.
Between the slow ass bit changes and the crooked holes for the lags… I was yelling at the scream!! 😂😂
Well, you got some type of interaction with the 🎥🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 your yelling and at your own scream 😱
I have all Bauer, never regretted it.
Every day I see more and more Bauer stuff come out o regret buying Hercules
Harbor Freight Hercules does need to step it up with the power tools

The difference is the Hercules gives you a 5 year warranty automatically.
@@dtacherra6063that's true. Otherwise they seem to perform evenly.
I just bought a 1/4in impact driver. If I had to do over, I might have tried the Hercules, but I went for the Milwaukee Fuel..and I’m happy with it.
You can't go wrong with the Gen 3 or Gen 4 👍
Hercules has a 5 year warranty too that's hard to beat
Loved this review, seems like Bauer is the superstar!!!😎💯👍

Get a good hammer drill not an impact.
