Yeah I’m running the Tomei headers too and was afraid of being too loud…but I found a dual res HKS front pipe and wow it sound so nice. It really kept the deep rumble tone. So yeah I’d say with a res front pipe is the way.
Miss you Alex! Been out the scene for 2 years, looked at a gr86 2023 but with inflation and taxes the car came out to 51k so I got back to the scene in a 2019 86 trd special edition and I’m looking to go crazy with this build! Last setup was borla v2 flex pipe catless uel headers, invidia catless front pipe and invidia n1 catback exhaust, now I’m looking to throw the borla uel headers, invidia front pipe with the trd performance exhaust, and an e85 with a tune from ecutek

TL;DR: Yes, they are absolutely worth it.
Watching you go at that o2 sensor with pliers made me clench lol. Just stumbled on the vids, lovin em. Super refreshing. I need to find some peeps like you in SD.
If you're tuning via the OFT tablet, you can still run e85 with the stock headers. The V4.03 tune is for both chatted and uncatted headers.
It's quiet af on E85 also $2.99 a gallon.

Always love your content but what would really make your car sound great is a J35 engine. I've seen them in the FR-S and they fit pretty well.
The Tomei UEL, Tomei Overpipe, Berk Catless Front pipe, and Greddy Dual Exhaust is the best for the unequal length, kuddos to beakhan for that setup.
I have an invidia equal length header catless, Tomei overpipe, invidia catless front pipe, and an invidia N1 exhaust and it’s beautiful, no rasp, just pure boxer engine sound 🙏🏻🥹
Just getting my HKS uel headers and overpipe ceramic coated, got a locally made catted and resonated frontpipe, will all go great with the HKS spec l catback I hope.
I have the JDL dual resonated front pipe. It is pricy but it's so nice. Opens up the sound more than stock but still keeps it under controll

I run the Invidia R400 catback exhaust and stock everything else. I think its the perfect middle ground where its loud enough that it sounds good and turns heads, but not enough to be obnoxious or sound like a "riced tin can" 😬
If you want to go quieter but keep the good sound, the Invidia Q300 is a good alternative, either alone or paired with a equal length headers

Like the now setup and sound…Headers don’t do much on performance when staying with a stock internal motor and heads… but the deeper sound is where it’s at for my ears… I let my friend win in a pull once just because his car sounded so bad and super raspy, and just wanted him to let off his throttle because my ears was hurting so bad… fyi you deserved that In-N-Out after watching you put that wrench time in… love the nails also…🤙

HKS has dual resonated front pipe it’s a must with headers.
Car looks great! I also went Tomei uel and they really bring out the rumble in these cars. Sadly with my SC setup now I will be going EL soon for optimal top end so bye bye rumble!

hey, dont forget to change back to either stock tune or stage 1 if youre on oft. i think 2+ is only meant for uel headers
I have a corolla, whit weapon R headers stock catalytic and megan racing muffler, it sounds pretty similar to yours whit the stock headers. You doing great.

The headers are a big factor in the noise yea but it all depends on the cat back. I have UL headers, berk catless mid pipe and a greddy RS single exit, and it produces a nice deep subie rumble.

I think it’s the cat-back that makes it that raspy because mine is not raspy like that at all and I have no cats and resonator
that sounds much better!! People always go to loud and it never sounds good!
Question why did you switch to stock headlights? I’m have problems with the bulbs (on vland) don’t know if it’s bad connection or some else.

I have JDL UEL headers, JDL Overpipe, Berk catless FP, custom catback with a resonator/muffler delete. I'm telling everyone its not as loud as videos make it out to be. Zero rasp and no high pitch honda sound if you choose a single GOOD resonator.

I have UEL headers does your headers sounds like they have an exhaust leak when you push it?😂 like is that normal? I changed out all my gasket recently too so I know that there’s not a leak

I have the same setup except I have a Borla S-Type Catback and its definitely loud but not quite as raspy, that shit sounds like the stereotypical 2AM civic

That’s definitely too loud lol. I’m only running the tomei uel catless headers and everything else is stock on my 19’ TRD (stock trd catback) and sounds perfect not too noisy, just right

I've been a big believer that the stock headers sound best on these cars. I'm not too crazy about UEL, and EL just sounds too much like a raspy rice rocket. Stock just has that smoothness and deepness to it. Plus the catback has a huge effect on how deep it sounds too.

@@lopezalexandra Awesome glad you're happier with them! Also I think you can still run E85 with stock headers too. So luckily you don't need headers for performance gains.
But the power... and lower end torque with UNEQUAL LENGTH
The problem is, kids start with obnoxious catbacks then do the headers. It's actually opposite, you start with headers (stock catback) and if you think is too quiet, add catback.
@@Carlos.Rivera I started with the header, then added a catback. Immediately went back to stock. Stock header sounds so much better and deeper.

Nothing tops the stock front pipe when going with UEL or EL headers and a catback on this platform. Perfect level of bass without tinny rasp and noise can be adjusted based on which catback you run

@@Froggy918 running the exact same setup for 2 years. If you don’t mind drone and it being loud, it does sound very deep, rumbly and nice. However it’s not for everyone

Do these unequal length headers require a tune? Or will I be good to drive right after the install?
Itll drive normal from experience but i wouldnt run it to long without a tune since it could cause some damage. I think i drove around 2 weeks without a tune while i waited for the oft to ship.

Be careful using that pop tune on any catted header; you’ll blow them out in no time and throw a CEL
