💛 I hope you like my wedding piano version of Golden Hour by @JVKE - the most beautiful song of recent times! I love it so much and I really enjoyed creating this arrangement ... I tried to make it shimmering and magical... I begin by playing Pachelbel's timeless Canon in D .. but it's in E ... the Golden key... and in JVKE style ... a pallet of luscious Ravel and Debussy harmonies mixed with boundless romance. Imagine walking down the aisle to this... or through a field of barley at sunset... or across the golden sands of your favourite beach... at sunset...

You know, anytime I hear thr piano/instrumental version of Golden Hour I am reminded of certain songs in Downton Abbey. There's such striking similarities. That aside, this was beautiful Paul - and I stand by my original statement.... this must have been a tough Mashup with the unmistakable piano sound of Golden Hour. Loved it!!! 😁😁
I only know the main theme from Downton ... I never really got super into the series... I think I found it depressing that my downstairs neighbours never came up and tidied up or washed my dishes or cooked dinner ... I bought a little bell and rang it every morning but they never arrived... and I had to dress myself... they obviously just don't GET what living downstairs means... anyway I should listen to the rest of the soundtrack ... the sound world of Golden Hour is VERY Maurice Ravel with a touch of Claude Debussy ... that kind of early 20th century French era ... and as someone who has always loved that music and played quite a lot of it that's really what I drew on when making this arrangement I guess... I didn't find it tough to be honest... but quite beautiful to immerse myself in that world and those ... colours... of those kinds of harmonies... It's why I love the song... such a beautiful throwback to that kind of style and sound-world... whilst at the same time still feeling modern and fresh and original... I think JVKE created a fantastic and inspired song! It's kind of genius!
@Paul Hankinson classic juxtaposed with modern and fresh.. that's a great description Paul!! And sorry about your downstairs neighbors - that's the worst. They need a strongly worded letter sent to them! In the meantime check youtube for the Downton soundtrack - you'll find a lot of parallels!!! 😁
