Excellent viewing thank you for taking the time and effort to do this. It is worth mentioning that there was a skirmish at Coleford in the Forest of Dean
before this seige where the Parliamentarians in Coleford succeeded in killing a few Royalist officers. I am interested to hear that miners from the Forest
of Dean helped to dig under the walls. Perhaps as the army was coming from Wales they could have been Welsh miners ?
My impression also is that in the main the Foresters were Parliamentarians not for any anti Royalist reasons but because the Welsh were Royalists and there
has been neighbour disputes between the both National factions long before the Civil war. You brought this to life so well done. Tony

Hi banshee do you have any further information what these disputes might have been about? I'm wondering if mining rights might have been possibly one of them? My grandfather used to talk about such disputes with the Welsh over mining and he was very well known and well respected in the mining community if the FoD.
