@@user-zn8gk6lq4f It's been awhile, but I think I used some plastic pry tools I bought from amazon. I started on the opposite side from the camera, and slowly pried on where the locking tabs were. Like he suggested in 3:35 of the video.
I have same issue, remote not opening, interior button is not working and the trunk button doesn’t work. But if I pull the emergency release inside the trunk it opens up and the motor works fine, even the buttons on bottom of the trunk to shut and lock works. Its just all buttons to open the trunk/ hatch don’t work. Sound like the same issue to you?
What bmw you have? If you go to your back seat and let down the arm rest in a middle you should be eble to open a the middle seat ,after that try to reach in side the trunk for a string and pull to open your trunk

I can't get in my trunk open at all, can you take that handle out and get through the trunk that way
