The sewing pedal is an interesting idea. I'll have to explore that option.

This is one of the best reviews I've seen of the inexpensive Chinese wheels. It will be interesting to see how the wheel holds up over time.

The plastic gears may last longer with a thin coating of grease on them. Should be a heavy grease so it doesn't migrate elsewhere so easily.

    Good review.
Some operations require a really slow speed - I wonder if it can do this with usable torque?
Presumably the metal parts and wheel head are earthed.
Personally I would check earth continuity before using the wheel.
I wonder what type of bearings they use.
Is there much deflection if you put pressure on the outer edge of the wheel.
However, as you say, you get what you pay for...

Thanks Mark. You have some good questions but the mechanics are mostly out of my league. The wheel head dips a little when you press on the edge for sure. Hopefully it will hold up for a while.

Hello! Thank you for reviewing this! Would you say you like this one here, or the other one you reviewed that is similar but with adjustable legs? Are the wheel heads the same? And is the other one taller when adjusted to the highest ability? I'm going to buy one of the wheels, I'm just not sure which one. Thank you 😊

Bought this same wheel last month because it had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately, the wheel head is off-centered and wobbling. VEVOR's customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. Their website says 30-day no-hassle returns, but getting a new wheel has been the biggest hassle ever! Their first reply was for me to wait 3 weeks for a repair kit so that I could fix it myself. We've gone back and forth several times and each time they refuse to let me return the wheel - they keep upping the incentive to keep it. So far they're giving me $125 to keep it. Does anyone know how to fix it? I have no idea and now I'm stuck with an off-centered pottery wheel.

That's a bummer. Can you tell if it's just the wheel head or is the rod underneath it bent? I haven't looked at mine close enough to see how easy it would be to take apart. I wonder what that repair kit looks like.

@@expertclay I can't tell. It's definitely got a small vertical wobble though. I still haven't received the repair kit. They did offer me $125 to keep it but refused to refund it. We're trying to get a replacement again.

@artwithmrs.rodriguez6306 I had the exact same issue. They offered to send a new belt to repair the vertical wobble but luckily I bought through Amazon and just returned it instead. Good luck with everything their customer service moved at a snails pace.

What are those awesome things you grab your piece of the wheel with 😮

I call them pot lifters. They may have other names though. They come in different sizes.

I have a slightly different version of this and the reverse is for right handed. I hadn't thrown in almost 10 years and at first I was so confused as to why I kept ending up with my finger jabbing through my pots 😅 Once I realized I was throwing in the wrong direction I had to laugh at myself. Mine is shorter so it's propped up on cinderblocks. My splash pan covers the entire top and is only as tall as the wheelhead but it leaks easily. However I've thrown on one of those $20 plastic tabletop toy wheels for kids before, so you use what you've got.

Thanks for sharing your experience! There seem to quite a few different sizes and styles of wheel made by Vevor. And now, more companies are making these cheap wheels and selling on Amazon. They aren't perfect, but like you said, you use what you've got!

Does it come with a warranty? If so, that may give you a decent indication of the lifespan.

The Vevor site shows a 12 month warranty.

Anyone have a problem with them sending a wheel that doesn’t plug into 110V in United States? They sent me a 180V wheel w a 220V plug. They are not replacing it but telling me to get a transformer. WtHeck. :(

Why do you not clean your wheel. It is very unhealthy. Silica dust is a real health risk. also, clean your wheel, prevents corrosion.
