Then again, Congress and Senate need information from all important parts of the country, including large businesses. So they also need contact persons. My suggestion would be to finance congresspeople and senators by tax money, providing them with a fixed amount of money for their office. And then have strict regulations for donations, including full transparency.

Corporations, big pharma, big oil, private prisons...lobbyists get laws passed not the people. Sara Marcoux we are talking about a different strain of drugs here. In Portugal they decriminalized the consumption and channeled the money otherwise spent on busting users , into treatment, on the addiction of recreational drugs.
The Portuguese Law Enforcement still does bust and seize illegal drugs trafficking.
So what they did was to decriminalize possession of small quantities and offer treatment to those caught.

The individuals working within the business who actually make the decision to commit crime get away with crime. So what the justice department fined a business? Where's the criminal management getting in trouble? Big pharma, big banks, big oil...it's all the same. I see these people in the justice department who go after the business and not the individuals running the business as short sighted and doing much less than they actually should be doing.

This is only re-exposing the flaw that existed in the American experiment in democracy since 1773. Women were treated less than in history. The acceptance of slavery and the deplorable treatment of indigenous people are two other examples. But it goes deeper than that States were inducted in the union only after it was majority caucasian. While at the same time they follow the bill of rights and the constitution that states all women and men are equal. The most glaring problem is evident in our construction that omits who owns and distributes our most important and most powerful commodity -money. Banks, yes our central bank which is privately owned, loans money to the US government each year. Yes your public officials are bought that you vote to put in office. Imagine that! WORST-->> Politicians needs money to run for office and these same private bankers that were not elected loan money to our government AT INTEREST. are you surprised at this 60 min. disclosure.
