This video is awesome and not just because you game up with a new way to handle adds as a tank.... but you took the time to connect the dots between how skills, work with weapons, work with champion points.... and how one effects another, not just here is gear, here is skills, here is champion points, here is the rotation. Great job!!
Sir, your focus and approach in this and other videos is really next level thinking and action. I'm going to have to rewatch this several times to absorb it . 8m new to tanking and I'm a bit obsessed by it. Well done and thank you for your fine work.
I use this exact combination for Warden double-frost healing. Less overall burst-heal options to slot, but I supplement the lack of a restoration staff with an auxiliary set like Winter's Respite. I let drop an active Budding Seeds that conditionally stacks Winter's Respite fresh onto the dungeon group, and then I swap over to a charged Blackrose Prison frost staff to cast Elemental Blockade; and finally it's followed with continuous bursts of Pulsar and refreshing any healing-over-time or targeting allies with specific burst-heal options like Leeching Vines or Bursting Vines. Alternatively, I stick to the bread and butter Frozen Gate and Gripping Shards/Winter's Revenge, but the latter skill is debatably expensive; but also the immobilization options can be compared in terms of efficacy in duration, situtation, and not merely expense. Very silly utility overall to me as a healer, but the slight angle into offensive-healing is attractive and fun.
Great video man. This helps me so much. I just started tanking and it's a blast. But man I keep getting the lowest dps in the dungeons I tank lol. When I would dps in dungeons I wouldn't notice that maybe because I was doing really good dps. That's the biggest thing I've noticed from switching from dd to tanking.
Same problem here with the dps, I have started using Yolnahkriin with powerful assault and spaulder of ruin to give the dps more dps but it still takes time lol
@@mattkuhart8694 A really great hybrid tank/dd is an Imperial Bashcro. You put all your jewelry into infused bash damage and you run Deadlands demolisher (which is crafted so you can choose your weights), and it's proc is just fantastic for damage, burning adds, getting interrupts etc. Plus since Necro gets extra health and mitigation with spirit guardian and that passive, you can spec more into stam and do even more dps while being an insanely useful tank. Don't even have to run Pummeling Goliath, just Colossus. Suffice to say, PUGs love me :)
@@mattkuhart8694 you said specifically that you just started tanking. That means you are new to it and just learning basics really. I've been using Dark Convergence for a long time now in dungeon trash pulls. It's so good my group gets grumpy if I dare try anything else. It pulls everything in a wide area, applies a 60% snare, stuns everything before the snare wears off and does reasonable magic damage. It also has a slightly shorter cooldown than the void bash set. A quick Alphagear keybinding before boss fights swaps it for Powerful assault. Works perfectly.
Imma get buried in here for this. When I'm tanking 4 man, I use dark convergence on back bar with razor caltrops. It pulls most of the ads in a neat ball under a group major breach. Dc roots for 1 second and causes serious movement speed decrease. It all costs me 3k stam I've taken dc out on no death and speed runs. One guy asked me how I get my vateshran to work across the room 😂
On a DK, would talons on add pulls still be preferred overall, or would you replace it with pulsar for now on? Also, is it important blockade follows pulsar and not vice versa?
If talons doesn't give all of those debuffs and buffs then I would say this method would be better. Sorry I'm not familiar with tanking with a DK. I just started and I started with a templar 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Having a root ability like Warden and DKs got makes add stacking so much easier. If the team has trouble burning trash.. problem is really not with the tank setup.
Pulsar procs chilled, blockade roots chilled mobs. Technically given that blockade does that each tick you should be able to cast them in reverse with slightly less predictability on the immobilise. I reckon talons would offset any blockade benefits apart from projectile shield with the synergy dps so slotting Pulsar instead with talons should work well possibly? Someone would have to do the maths for it though to determine which is better
I think the dude just invented the next meta for trash pulls xD Also applies minor brittle and mangle to the enemies for faster burn aswell as minor protection to everyone untop of the root. 10/10 will use.
@@SauronGorthaur01 Yes, but those ranged mobs often run away very quickly. The skill was demoed under non realistic conditions. Not meant to be a criticism just an observation.
Why should non elite monsters have a cc immunity. They're not players. I would not see an issue with small enemies have no cc immunity. It would make cc much more enticing and entertaining.
Honestly I just use tormentor and aoe taunt then drag the melee idiots to the ranged ones and keep my aoe taunt up, way easier than all this, and it's on a templar, I never have stray adds running around and my healer gets bored because nobody else gets hit

I usually defaulted to "Caltrops" from the PvP skill line.
Big AoE, some damage and a slow...now it can also be morphed with Major Breach.
Absolutely fantastic. I didn't know about this skill. Thank You very much.

Same, but after the CD was increased, I don't like it as much anymore. It's still good, but not as good as it was.
definately will use this - thanks
I am definitely using this on my Bashcro/tank. Time to go farm some Transmute Crystals xD
Great I'm going to do this, all I need now is to be able to actually do vatishron hollows been playing a year and still can't complete it yet
Thank you for the post lee

Have you tested with and without CP?
And without a Charged staff.
Or you can run 2h stampede and tormentor set, its pretty fun to use
How does It work? Sorry for asking i am a noob :(

The demo was on the wrong type of mobs since they were not ranged mobs.
I guess it was mostly to show the immobilize uptime.

Same here man every tank build has wall of elements or elemental blockade morph
Then you'll never be accepted into harder content, but you can enjoy tanking other content regardless.
