The Greatest Chess Endgame ever | Vishy Anand vs Magnus Carlsen | Global Chess League 2023

  • If you would like to witness one of the best endgames ever played, you are in for some luck! 5-time World Champion Vishy Anand (Ganges Grandmasters) sat opposite another 5-time World Champion Magnus Carlsen (SG Alpine Warriors) at the 7th round of the Global Chess League 2023. The game was a slow strategic battle with both sides maneuvring in the first half of the game. Then Magnus realized that he had to win in order to let his team have any chances to beat his opposing team. And so he sacrificed a pawn. The game then went into a knight vs bishop endgame that was so sharp and complex that very few grandmasters could make sense of what was going on. With themes like domination, underpromotion, stalemate and much more, this is an endgame worth visiting and revisiting many many times in your life! Check out this battle along with the commentary of IM Sagar Shah and enjoy.

      But carlson have 1 knight 1 bishop and with the promotion of that black pawn he would have got queen
      Now it's quite obvious to mate a king with queen with the help of knight and bishop .
      To help u understand , consider anand have traded queen for queen with carlson then with the help of bishop nd knight carlson would have killed Anand's remaining 2 pawn and would have made queen of his remaining one pawn .

    Magnus is brilliant in Endgames. I had been watching and admiring Vishy's games for 25 + years and his previous three consecutive victories
    in this tournament was a real feast to vishy's Admirers. Vishy defeats many GM's who defeat Magnus but don't know wt happens to him as
    most of the time he looses to Magnus.

    • @kunalsingh4418
      @kunalsingh4418 10 месяцев назад +11

      It's more like if Magnus is motivated enough nobody can beat him. U want him bored out of his mind, but if Carlsen gets serious, he is the player with the highest rating ever in history of chess, a player whose average rating over last 10 years is higher than peak of almost all the players in history. So yeah Vishy is not playing any worse, Magnus just respects Vishy so much to always bring his A game tô the table. This endgame was just a clear example of that.

    At around 13 minutes, you can see Vishy go from a concrete plan to questioning everything, and Magnus squeezing life into a locked position. Vishy usually grabs his own piece and shuffles it around in his hand, but as magnus gets more life into the position you can literally see vishy start to lose it....he reaches for pieces squeezes them in fustration, and then continues to think forgetting to grab one. You literally see him breaking, CRAZY GAME

In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability.
