The deal made little sense as the Penguins re-signed Letang to be their #1 guy on defense and run PP1. They brought Erik Karlsson in to San Jose and he had to compete for those key spots with Brent Burns and it clearly did not work and did not benefit either player. So for Pittsburgh to see this and think "well, it didn't work there but it COULD work here" did not make sense... that is what I was referring to in the video.
