This team is moving in a positive direction , for the first time since before Mike Gillis sent it down the river with all or nothing management, and Jim Benning picked up the torch without even knowing how fire burns you! As long as ownership continues to put trust in Jim Rutherford and company, and STAYS THE HELL out of trying to manage the team themselves, then, there may be an actual COMPETITIVE future for The Canucks! Makes you kind of feel warm inside, doesn't it? Now, next training camp, hire Wayne Gretzky for one hour, and have him teach the team his mantra: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. (Could've helped a lot this playoffs too, but, as they say, hindsight is recognozing how they F'ed THAT UP! 😜)

Wow you guys had the best season in a decade and you lose in the 2nd round of the Playoffs and you want to make "big moves". Young team (young together), no expectations and you topped the Pacific and beat the Preds, who had a ton of combined Playoff experience. Your first playoffs in a long time. The Pettersson contract (WWWWWWHHHHHHHYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?) has F'ed this team's salary scale completely. There is NO world in which he deserved that (he's 150% better than Miller right now?!? Or ever will be??? He's TWICE as good as Hughes?!?!?... No. Period.) This deal has screwed The Canucks royally... What is Hughes (a BETTER player, by half again!) going to expect / get now? $18 Million per? You'd hope not, but by all accounts, if Pettersson "deserves" $11.5 without even proving himself yet (Hughes HAS PROVEN HIMSELF, consistently!), then, Hughes is easily worth that... But how much sense does that make? None, as I see it. So why did they cave on an RFA who has had 1 very good season of production? Desperation move, ridiculously negotiated, by Vancouver management. And now, due to this, the domino effect is having no money for Zadorov, Lindholm, et al (that they just traded away a bunch of assets for, to watch walk?). And Demko (just THE BEST overall player on the team!)? What does his new contract look like then, when compared to Petey's? Welcome to the beginning of The Shanahan/Dubis Debacle all over again; you'd think other managers would have learned something from The Maple Leaves woes...

ruthervin will move some assets for draft picks then use them as sweetners to move some of the deadwood. they are good at it.

Game 6 was frustrating to watch. Game 7 was even more so. I predict Rutherford and Allvin are going to make some blockbuster moves this off-season starting with getting some offensive help.... I knew this front office was different when they managed to unload Hamonic to Ottawa AND get a pick in 2022. Guentzel on the top six would look awfully good where Mikheyev was just awful.

Well, I will miss Canucks playoff hockey. TBH, I am tired. Since the playoffs started, my shift has been 5:30 am to 2:00 pm. Every Canucks playoff game, I'd be up watching. Going to bed by 10 or 11, getting up at 2. This weekend Sunday/Monday... all I did is sleep.

GOD! I wish people would stop calling Mc??Defense?? "the best 'HOCKEY PLAYER' in the world"... He's NOT EVEN CLOSE. He IS the best offensively talented player (ARGUABLY), at least, I could say he's the best "skating while stickhandling" player in the world. But he his HORRIBLE, unequivocably HORRIBLE, defensively, and until he knows what "defense" is (*and he's gotten some instruction, it seems, under the new Oilers coach), he's not the "best HOCKEY PLAYER", period. Crosby (STILL!). Barkov. MacKinnon. Miller. Kucherov. Rantanen. Zinbanejad. Aho. Josi. "Hockey", is a 200 foot game. Get real, people.
