  • Excited to explore the magic of soft pastels in a more relaxed, abstract style? Join me live as I demonstrate how to bring one of my whimsical terrariums to life by closing the gap between structure and abstraction. This session will offer a looser version of the techniques covered in my "Nurture Your Joy" class, providing a fresh perspective on how to create vibrant, whimsical art. I will be using PanPastel and Pastel Pencils.
Please note, this is a demonstration, not a full lesson. It's a perfect opportunity to see my creative process in action and pick up some tips on how to loosen up your own artistic approach. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions and get real-time answers.

Love this sweet scene! It’s lovely how those little “patches” of color all come together to portray the light at the top of the glass. Looking forward to Catching the Light Class. Thank you for another great Live!💖

Thanks again for access to the outline for this one. I love this bird, so amazing colors. When I was doing the first terrarium that it would be neat to take this idea and make a ship portal window with an ocean setting, maybe a mermaid or dolphins. I just need to get brave enough, or get more experience, to take on my own ideas. Thanks again for sharing your process.

You are so welcome, Kim! I'm so glad you are enjoying the terrariums and that they are inspiring you. You should go for it! I like to remind mysef even that the paper is not precious you can always start over or erase it. I do love drawing up some of my ideas first to see if I can get it expressed that way first and then I can transfer it if I want. I love the ideas that you have shared. I've had a few ideas that I've wanted to explore too. They have unlimited possibilities. I appreciate you taking th time to leave such a kind comment.

I'm catching the beginning, which I missed, but I'm also here to like and comment. As usual, I enjoyed the live and the community. I'm still using up my Mi Tients and Pastelmat, trying to be a good steward of resources. I'm looking forward to trying UArt.

Hello Lynne, I really appreciate all of your support. It means a lot to me. I understand you wanting to use up the paper, but the experience is like night and day between the papers. You could always get the UART and still use the other papers down the road.

@@queenofscots839 I totally agree. Sometimes though people will not show up consistently to draw if they think they are not good. I’m hoping to encourage them 😁
