And I can't help but notice that you guys top it all of. I live in USA for almost 40 years, last 10 in Houston area. And for the 4th biggest city in US, we don't even come close to the way it's organized in here. Before I emigrated from Poland I knew Czechs were really leading in that part of Europe. I learned great deal from them. Now it seems that Hungarians, Czechs , and Slovaks know how to do it. Here they have a lot to learn from you. Germany, France, and Great Britain doesn't come close either. For example US IPMS Nationals don't come even close to what I've seen from your videos. We have a lot to learn. (By the way, Houston is a city of almost 2.5 million people). Thank you again.

It's not a cheap hobby; but is far cheaper than RC! If you just build kits from the box quickly; then it can be very expensive. But if you spend the extra money on aftermarket sets, then put in the time investment to bring out the best in the details; then it becomes very cost effective. An example would be spending $500 on a 400hr 1/350 battleship build. That's almost a dollar an hr.

Satisfying to see that people keep making plastic models in 21st century... I do not know anybody else in my surrounings, but yes, modellers "are there somewhere"... :)
Duisan, the Japanese have a very healthy respect for the scale modeling hobby, no signs of slowing down and their hobby shops are very well stocked and stay open where as here in the US nearly all have closed up save for a few. The hobby seems to hold up well in Europe and the UK as well.
@@maxbrandt6 As it takes patience, time and a skill-set honed over decades, really; building models to museum standards will always be niche. With that said, this is the golden age of the hobby; as nearly everything has been tooled to a modern standard, and almost every one of those has a plethora of aftermarket sets available for it, allowing for museum quality builds with little to no scratchbuilding. I'm guessing this is the nationals; a litmus test for that, is the number of high quality ship models-the rarest [and hardest to build] of all. Where I come from, Christchurch New Zealand-with a population of half a million; we have a local branch of the IPMS-but you never see ships, at least not done well. If I ever finish one, I'll be the first, lol. Another city that's nearby-Nelson; doesn't have a branch at all. But Blenheim, which is smaller; does. Model builders are out there, but if our club has say 50 who attend regularly, and lets say there's another untapped 50; that would mean there's one person deeply into the hobby per 5000 people.

I second that thought! I know of several great modelers, but they seem to be dwindling. This show gives me hope!
