Instead of the retractable Z probe, now using Force Sensing Resistors (FSR) sandwiched between the glass print surface and the triangle frame, wired up to the unused heated bed thermistor input. When the hotend pushes down on the print surface, their resistance changes quickly from 500 kΩ to 50 Ω, depending on the force. This allows calibrating the print surface with 0.03 mm repeatability, which is good enough for printing PLA on cold naked glass.

I'm IN!!! This is just fantastic work. Glad to see you using the nozzle as the probe! This makes life much more simple and I'll be moving on this tech very quickly because it's just too good to pass up! Thanks again Johann for getting me addicted to 3D printing. Deltabots FTW.

What an elegant way to solve the problem.

This is super cool! Wouldn't the sensors require more pressure if the nozzle is touching the bed further away? It'd be interesting to see the grid mapped out and figure out if more pressure is required on the outer perimeter and how this affects the calibration.

I agree fully with Steves comment :-)
      Thank you Johan

    Done.
This upgrade improved my first layers ALOT!
    Good job!

Sounds like you could use it with a script to manually level so its close as well. Very nice.

I wonder if every point is registered properly? I'm thinking some areas require more pressure from the nozzle, is this true?

    cool! nice progress Johann!
btw. are you using a diffenrent hot end now? And ist that fan holder available?

Hi Johann. I worked on something a bit like this, but i was afraid that it would damage the nozzle...if the brass is hot will it not deform over time ??

Quick question, with the hotend being the zprobe, would you set the offset to 0,0,0,0?

Would it work if we put some foam tape on top of each stepper motor, then placed the FSR on top of that, and then the glass on top of that? How hot do the stepper motors get? heat from the motors shouldn't affect the callibration, because it is at the beginning of the job...Also, can you elaborate on how we should hook it up to the board? (Z_min) Thanks!

I've built a custom Delta bot and have calibrated it manually but would love to implement FSR bed leveling however I'm unable to find wiring schematics! Would you be willing to share, good sir?

Awesome! Will this be on your Kossel Pro on sale soon? I'm nearly done with my mini Kossel, can I retrofit this easily with repetier?

Hi! Great ideal! Is this also usable with i3-type printer and marlin firmware?
And what if I want to use the heat bed thermistor?
    Best Regards

The firmware linked to at your github is not compiling for me. The error says “LiquidTWI2 does not name a type." Has anyone else had this error?

My printer has the FSRs installed and testing properly and the firmware is the only thing holding me back from having this working? Does anyone know what I can change to get the linked firmware to compile correctly?

I was wondering this too. They appear to be to Interlink 400 series. Johann, please correct me if I'm wrong.
