just ordered it, and only now checking the full video to discover i must have a neutral... just instaled my DOL starter today and i can defenitely tell that there isn't any! a lot of work ahead.... thanks anyway for the link and all the info, i'v been looking fo a solution for ages! keep up the good work!
Nice one! It may be worth mentioning that if you call them up, they could perhaps advise if you could supply power to the unit from a 240v plug, to save having a neutral
On dust extractors that are connected to machinery circuits, the extra run time when turning off gives the extraction system time to clear the vacuum lines before shutting down. In your case, with a remote, the off run time should be based on the machine furthest away from the main extraction unit so lines clear and build up at blast gates is reduced.
Yeah true, I just assumed that the remote system your telling to shut off, so can shut off at the appropriate time. It makes sense and is no bother though!
A great improvement with your audio Oli 👍🏻 A good modification for controlling the extractor too, very reasonable price for the added convenience. I think I will be picking up a set of those long Erbauer bits too. I had an occasion recently where I could’ve really used them. Thanks for the tip off 👍🏻
Cheers Mike, i was astounded at the audio difference. Yes i liked the unit overall. Itll be a very welcome addition to my shop! What i like about the bits is the compact little case and no extra ones your never going to use...!
I am always learning things from you. Thanks. Prior to festool developing their own Bluetooth system I’d managed to find an aftermarket bt set up for jobsites / very portable and efficient to employ when Using a cordless sander or Mirca sanding block with a dust extractor.
Cheers Mark, Was it a bluetooth plug adapter? I know they work but prone to failure due to the load of a extractor motor, these guys do a solution for that aswell! haha The bluetooth is incredibly handy
I worried about the load to a point and so kept an eye on things. I was using big box BT with an old CT 22, no problems at all long or short term. Used many hours at a stint on new construction custom home projects. Maybe I was just lucky! It was not a very refined setup, just efficient.
Ahh, yeah they need a bit of sucky sucky! How big you going, i saw a setup the size of my workshop for sale the other day! haha! It would turn my shop inside out i reckon
I probably upgrade to a 25HP DT-250 with 9000CFM. I need more space in dust bay. The one I currently have is headache need to clean once an hour if I am running crazy amount or lumber through planet and jointer.
Can’t decide on the wide belt sander SCM vs Weber. Which do you recommend if only for doors and windows plus some cabinets work. Moldings not much. What do you recommend
I'm thinking of buying a machine to turn my sawdust into briquettes Im working out whether it's economically viable Have you ever looked into this option This remote option looks good
@@frankmatibs8076 I honestly wouldn't know, something I have just became aware of. It may be a case of whatever you get you gradually accumulate the sawdust to set it to work once a week or so. Or ask around for anyone else's sawdust to build up the supply needed.
HI frank, I havent given it much thought, it seems a right faff for me to be honest. By the time ive spent all the investment money and time setting up and actually producing briquettes its not going to beat just earnign money with that time woodworking. If you are interested in the process and enjoy it thats another matter, but comercially, its not viable in my opinion.
I like the Bosch, gas25 been real robust for last 15 years. but i have to say the festool Midi is brilliant, i wouldnt buy a different hoover again! Not sure if it has a 60mm inlet, think it does, you can get a big bore hose too if needed. 36mm.
@@BradshawJoinery Bosch gas25, looks promising, and with comes with a 35mm hose🤔Ive tried reducing the 100mm, from the chip extractor, and increasing the 26mm from my Trend T35, but the suction can't cope with my Bosch gts10. Thanks for your time fella.
Spot on with the new microphone much more clearer than the camera microphone
Cheers matey👍 I think the same tbh!
I work at Screwfix and didn't know we sold those bits, thanks for that 😁
Haha it's the perfect compact set!
And don't forget, they are only £1.99

Quite normal for a extractor to have a overrun, good bit of kit and reasonable priced
True, didn't really think about that thanks
Audio seems better Ollie. Seems like you have hit on a great stop start solution
Cheers PAul! Yeah lol its the perfect job!
Audio is spot on, I hope you manage to pull through the man flu, if not will you be having a clearance sale😂
Haha!! Brilliant im sure there will be some kind of yard sale lol!!!

Looks good and the timer will still give a slight delay at it's lowest setting.
Cheers mate, Fair enough! Its got 10 days at the longest delay i think.. haha!! Now that would require forward thinking
Audio is spot on👍
Sweet! thats good
Nice. I am lookin go to get a new dust collector too. Current one is too small for the wide belt sander.

Check out Manor Wood. He posted a video a couple of weeks ago showing a briquette maker he had bought.
Try New Yorkshire Workshop as well he built his own, if your a bit handy.
@@johnmackay7789 yes I saw this
I was thinking about getting one a few years ago I think you have to produce a lot of saw dust to make it pay

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced shop vac, with a 60mm inlet. Strangely, Im struggling to find one. Nice solution to that annoyance Oliver.

I'm not sure the gas25 would be any better than the t35 if I'm honest!
The good thing is that you can attach a remote to each gate on a machine
Pretty much! I like clipping it to my neckline, Always accessible, never catches on anything.
Does your insurer allow you to work on mains cabling?
Its fine on your own property but not for commercial gain.
@@BradshawJoinery WOW. Here in Australia all insurers will look for any excuse to deny a claim.
I am with a very good insurer here. Pricey but great when it comes to a claim

Awesome

good mlc
Cheers bud, we think so too!
Audio is far too professional Ollie. Now I'll have no excuse to drift off during your maths lessons!
