    I did the most very basic of 6502 demo coding on my C64 back in the day, so most of this stuff is way over my head. But I really do enjoy these deep dives. Thank you. 👍

    I love your in deep explanations. This was the way we learnt things back in the days without internet and access to dev infos. Simply by tampering with games and demos you learn on the fly with lots of "oh, I see now" moments.

    Do you think there are all the different road parts (straight, curved, hill, etc.) stored in memory (compressed like the building graphics) and copied over as needed?

    From the file name of the G64 image I suppose you sourced it from C64 Preservation Project. The CYAN Loader A protection signature is actually working in the image. As emualtor it needs at least Vice 2.4 to pass.

      Yes, the version of Vice in ICU64 is very old :) Hence the need to patch the loader code with what's loaded in a newer version of Vice.
