Single piece wedge might benefit from having a slight curve built in to match the amount of hip rotation present as squat stances widen. I can imagine that it'd be difficult to have it dead on accurate for people of all sizes, but a close approximation would be better than nothing.

How much does the single piece weigh? I ask to see if it's practical to carry to the gym from home

I carry two of the single ones a 15 minute walk to and from the gym. No issue. They maybe weigh 1-2kg each.
