you should definitely check out more DPR stuff, DPR Ian has a lot of incredible stuff worth checking out and he directs and edits his own MVs as well as other artists' MVs which always blows my mind... i recommend you start from his first official solo debut "so beautiful MV" and react to all his MVs until the most recent ones you haven't reacted yet, they're all worth reacting to. DPR Live is also worth checking out, he's mainly a rapper but he also sings and has an interesting sound as well. everyone involved in DPR is very talented and creative but these two are the ones i know about the most in terms of discography.
React next to Skins demo by DPR Ian. Sorry for the essay here! As you already know Ian has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and bipolar. Mito is one of the alters (short for altered/alternative state of consciousness) which is another person in the same body with different memories, voice tone, body language etc. DID stems from severe childhood trauma. The child fragments the mind/disassociate so that the "new person" can deal with the trauma and not the child. And that's what someone with DID learns to do whenever they're under extreme stress, they switch to someone else. So when Ian is going through though times he blacks out for hours, days, weeks (the most he has been out was a month) and Mito comes in (he's "fronting" in DID terminology which means who's taking control of the mind) as Mito's role in their system is to be the "emotional protector", to deal with and remember their traumas. Ian is the "host", the one who controls the mind most of the times, the most proeminent identity. It's also not black and white, sometimes there is co-fronting meaning more than one alter in control at the same time. I'm saying all of this stuff to explain that Skins came to be because Ian had one of these black outs for 2 days and came back with Skins already written and produced by Mito and the video already shot with the help of 2 of his friends. It's a letter from Mito to Ian about how It feels to hold their traumas for so long. Ian said he decided to release as raw as it was, not mastered or mixed. It's the first time he allowed to show Mito's true feelings being represented and not through Ian's eyes. Humanizing him in a way, since Ian mostly shows Mito in his songs as a dark almost mythical figure in his life, or side of him , that he repels. It's a relatively short song since it's a demo but it's great and very vulnerable.
If you love DPR Artic I bet you'll also love DPR Cream, he produced the majority of tracks that DPR has released. Fun fact: apparently DPR Cream has credits over 500 songs based on Korea Music Copyright Association's database DPR Live (who is now on hiatus from DPR) sound cater to rap & k-r&b genre. I'd recommend "Jasmine", "Summer Tights" & "Hula-hoop". Fun fact: DPR Live & DPR Ian has a song produced by Justice for marvel movie (OST sangchi) which go by the title "Diamonds + And Pearls"
Dpr live is another good soul you should check out he’s more hip hop when I comes to sound but he does sing from time to time. I think you should check out hula hoops, neon/kissme or even martini blue by live all good songs to me
Arctic is a producer and DJ in several korean clubs (even before he joined the DPR). I haven't listened the whole album yet, but I don't think he sings. Because there are other features in the album. If I'm wrong then I'm sorry :)
DPR Arctic is a DJ and composer!!
