Most talented instructor I have had for judo or any sport, the judo I was taught by sensei Sasaki became the backbone for my wrestling and Jiu jitsu career.
I have been wanting to learn a martial art for many years and finally this year I decided to do it… Who you choose to teach you is such an important decision, and I did a lot of research and everything kept pointing me here. I went to my 1st class yesterday and I saw an incredible athlete with great knowledge who more importantly cares for his students. I realized I found where I want to begin my journey .
Sensei, I am really moved with your story. Unfortunately, I am in Texas, but I understand you and your struggle. Judo has been a great tool for me for many years to become a better person, unfortunately I broke an ankle and never returned to a tatami again. But listening to you motivated me to return to judo and what it represents. You are more than welcome in my home if you come to Houston, this is your home too.
Truly inspiring I sincerely hope your situation and the world improves - I greatly admire your humility and honesty Your judo is by far the best the world has seen for a very long time Osu
Thank you very much for your comment. Everybody still has hard time for their business or anything, but I will do my best for my dojo and people world wide ! Oss!
Having seen you at Tohkon in Chicago Illinois I could tell your hardships and dedication to the way just by your mannerisms alone , inspirational story to listen and connect to during these trying times thank you sensei
Hello Tommy, Thank you very much for your comment. I really need to survive and save JUDO. I want to help Judokas in the world in the situation, and when we all Judokas in the world help or support this world and people, we will accomplish "精力善用:Maximum efficiency " 自他共栄:Mutual welfare and benefit".
My Dojo means everything too. Not because of the physical structure. Without the dojo, the many positive life changes for our judoka, (made possible by judo) would not have been possible. That would be a tragedy. So the sacrifices necessary for me, become life changing opportunities for many others. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Thank you so much for all the teachings and passion you've poured into all of your students sensei i'll be back soon and support you and the dojo as much as i possibly can - nate
Very versatile and talented judoka/sensei… truly hard to make a living as an elite Judo athlete (in Japan.. as he stated), which is unlike most other sports “a way of life”, and barely making ends meet… nevertheless, you get up from throws and defeats to the randori of life again and again to challenge yourself first, then circumstances
Great story, judo has helped me through some tough times, been off the mat for a bit now because of covid19 stuff, but id love to get back on it. This might be off topic but do you allow leg takedowns in randori at your dojo? I can't find any place that will allow it, and i feel like im not addressing a fundamental judo aspect. When i have a chance ill def visit. Thank you
Hello, Thank you very much for watching the vlog. I hope that will be a good success story in the future. I want people to watch me here if I get through the situation and survived. Anytime you are welcome to our dojo ! thanks again.
I train with Ryan Vargas, one of your students I would definately want to do your open mat so I can drill, I love drilling. But it is hard to get others drill with me because they always want to roll. You are the perfect size. I am 5'2 so you would be a great partner for me sensei
