    I have this cooler for the first day. Without any sound in working process , i5 12500 in full load about 50 celsium. Bravo.. Really. Just stunning cooler..

    Noctua should really start worrying if a half-ish priced cooler has the same or better performance than they're own coolers.

    • @baristov
      @baristov Год назад

      It's unreal that Austrian Noctua have chances to compete at price/performance with East European Poland brands, as SilentiumPC (Endorfy)

    I personally value silence 1st, then decent cooling potential a reasonably close second. I’m willing to sacrifice a few degrees Celsius over a noticeable noisy cooler at the same price point. I’d go with the single fan option for value …. However for £5 more a high quality spare FB cooling fan to use is worth the money for what you get 🤩🎉👍🥰

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  2 года назад +3

      My personal preference is also silence first and then closely followed by cooling performance. It depends on usage as well - I'd rather a quiet work PC but a more powerfully cooled gaming PC. SilentiumPC does a good job in providing a really wide speed range for the fans. That's ideal for tuning noise output. Luke

  • @QuentinStephens
    @QuentinStephens 2 года назад +6

    Excellent work, thank you. Quiet operation is very important to me. I wonder, though, if the Dual would have performed better if you had removed the top and rear fans? That way the fans would not interfere with each other.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  2 года назад +4

      I don't think the dual fan would have performed better without the rear chassis fan, but the performance improvement versus the single fan may have been greater for that scenario. The top fan is an interesting one. It's a low speed 140mm unit but we have found that it can sometimes aid pulling the flow towards the top-rear of the chassis. I haven't looked into whether it's a detriment for certain air coolers (to keep consistency), but I will make a note of that point for when the test system gets some future revisions, thanks! Luke

    SilentiumPC isn't really a newcomer - probably just have been unavailable outside of Poland. I've used their Regnum RG4 in 2018, and it wasn't a new case back then. Which, ironically, I'm on record describing as a poor man's Meshify.
    As for the cooler itself - how does it compare to an Arctic Freezer 34?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  2 года назад +1

      Very fair point - it's the presence in markets like the UK that seems to be relatively new to us.
      We have some Arctic Freezer 33 test data in our SilentiumPC Fera 5 Dual review on the KitGuru website. A quick comparison shows that Arctic Freezer 33 eSports One managed around 168W package power under 5950X PBO. Whereas this Fortis 5 is more like 213W package power managed. A lot of those lower-end coolers don't really have direct data in these charts because the Fortis 5 is higher-end. But the numbers on the website for previous reviews are directly comparable. Luke

      @@KitGuruTech there's so few Polish PC part companies, I'm rooting for them (I'm aware of Silentium and GoodRam).
      Thanks for the info about that Arctic - so far it's been my favorite low cost cooler, but I'll probably give SilentiumPC a good look next time I'm building anything.

    I'd get the dual fan version for the spare 12cm fan, £5 is pretty cheap for a decent quality FD bearing item.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  2 года назад +1

      Yes, £5 extra is very reasonable in my opinion. Perhaps not worth it purely for the performance change, but the redundancy allowed by an extra fan is great for £5! Luke

    • @dorientjewoller113
      @dorientjewoller113 2 года назад

      Shame it's a 120mm fan. I think that an extra 140mm fan would have given it a better performance boost.

  • @StepMochi
    @StepMochi 2 года назад +1

    What if you use the bigger fan as a case fan instead? Even if it's connected to the CPU fan socket it can easily push all the hot air from the case out of the case and that should help more than 1 degrees change that it would give on the CPU cooler.

    i5 11400F here, couple hours of gaming it never went above 60'C with around 800rpm. Fortis 5 ARGB in Arx 500(4x140mm Stratus fans) case. Endorfy is really bang for a buck, it should get more recognition.

    I got the single 140mm fan version and had to file the fan housing down to clear my kingston fury ddr5 ram. I also moved the fan away from the motherboard so it only just sticks out past the end of the cooler if you mount it flush with the end of the cooler the fan housing sits against the cooler mounting screws.
    Motherboard is msi z690 force WiFi.
    Cpu Intel 12 gen i7 socket Lga1700.
    Apart from that it was easy to fit and is nice and quiet in use

    Hello, do you think this cooler is more effective than the Scythe Ninja 4? I recently built a new rig with an i5-13600K and to my surprise, it thermal throttles under load with this cooler. I'm looking for an alternative.

    Thanks for review! Just ordered Fortis 5 cuz I have some serious noise and temperatures w Cooler Master 412R with my Ryzen 3600 cuz this chip seems to run hot, but also Fortis seems to be much beefier cooler compared to H412R and had Fortis 3 in the past until it's fan decided to die and also seemed to have nice temps so it should be even better with Fortis 5!

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  2 года назад +1

      Yes, it does seem like the seconary fan doesn't provide massive cooling benefit. It isn't too much extra cost either, though, so it's not a bad outcome overall if somebody does have reasons for dual fan (redundancy). Luke
