  • Hey everyone! Today, to use a skateboard analogy, were going to have a look at one of THE most fundamental of rock and blues guitar licks. That one lick that any guitar soloist worth his salt learns early on and is one of the most widely used licks in rock, blues and metal.
    Hope you enjoy the vid.
    Cheers, Kelly

Way back when…as an exercise at GIT, we had to give a lesson to the class, that is exactly the lick I chose. Thanks for the memories. What fun!

Oh man.....I remember it so well. I think I actually learned it on a nylon string acoustic. But the first time I played it on an electric with distortion. It was the Holy Grail. I called it the Ace Frehley lick😊

I can't remember exactly where - I think it was a BBC documentary called "I'm in a rock 'n roll band" - where this lick was called the "Look at me" lick, because that is what the lead guitarists wants when they play it :)

I'm 65. Good chance the best guitarist on my block. Lol. But truth is I don't think I've ever played that lick correct. Thank you for explaining it. I've impressed alot of people through the years. Still maybe it's time to sit still and see if an old dog can learn new tricks. Lol. Thank you again 👍

What is the red guitar with the black and white humbucker and the maple neck?

I can only seem to do it with alt picking, that's how iv always done it, trying it with Eco picking is way harder than it should be lol.

Hey chief - just saw your name mentioned in another video regarding artists copyright striking cover songs. I have a mechanical license to cover Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams, but 2 weeks ago (with 200 views) I received a full takedown + copyright strike from UMG. So he's still at it.
I managed to eventually get in touch with UMG, and they weren't remotely interested in the license... claiming that "the license doesn't cover me for online publishing" which is baloney because DSPs are online, and that "Bryan Adams music is not available for licensing online in any capacity". Neither UMG nor RUclips were interested in discussing this further or explaining why my mechanical license wasn't sufficient.
And when you see Boyce Avenue with a Bryan Adams cover at 195M views you assume you're OK. In fact, you assume you're OK when you have a license. To have different rules for specific artists shouldn't be allowed, it makes it impossible for us to stay within the law because the law isn't defined.
