Political stories:

The best example I know of is 1984.
It doesn't just show why X side is wrong, its story is built on the result of X values, blown to the extreme. And it's nuanced enough that it can represent both far left and far right dystopic regimes.

You'd have loved Cracked dot com's photoplasty contests, then. They would set up challenge themes and readers would make images. Some of the ones for movies could be quite good (Neil Gaiman's 'Sandman' as a movie with Tom Hiddleston as Dream and Summer Glau as Death) or really off the wall, and more than a few entries got the 'Shut up and take my money!' comment.

To be fair to Cloverfied, Despite the shaking cam, I cared for the characters, it does a good job of capture the horror of a situation where a Giant Monster invades a city, and the consequences of it aren't padded over.
Cloverfield is underrated...
And the shaky cam is actually there for a reason, too. Such a good movie. Sadly not very rewatchable but good nonetheless.

I love how he suggests swarming a monster with combined arms, lure it into a kill zone, grinding it down through attrition, and hitting it with heavy ordinance... all of which was used in the 1998 American Godzilla movie which was universally panned. Also, anyone else in hysterical laughter over the TWA-zilla at 4:22?

I'm guessing the TWA Sponsor story arc will be a separate, complete video once its finished.
That would be cool, but I doubt it. He's had at least three different sponsors (might be more) and I doubt they'd allow all their their products to be in one video like that. Plus, this would require him adding the "click (insert sponsor)'s link in the description for (insert deal said sponsor is giving at that time)" bits, as some are part of the skit/storyline. As most of these offers will have expired by the time the video is posted (not to mention the fact the offers will be complete defunct with a year at the very least), it'll confuse some people and may even angry some (terribly stupid) idiots.
Funnily enough there's a French metal band named after Godzilla called Gojira. They're pretty badass if you're into that type of music

HLL To be fair, I don’t think Ron Perlman was ever implied to have a big role by any of the promotional material, not like how everyone thought Brian Cranston was going to be based off of the trailers.

Bryan Cranston was implied to be the lead character based off the trailers. Pacific Rim had like a shot of him in the trailer. I thought Idris Elba would be the protagonist and he almost was.

You've already done Sci Fi Weapons. What about Fantasy Weapons?
That's easy. If you want a weapon for the hero, just take the world's most generic sword and make it shoot lightning or something as soon as the going gets tough and it looks like the hero would have needed to actually work for their victory otherwise. As for the supporting cast, all the good guys use swords, bows are reserved for dainty little elves and ladies (it's not like it takes great arm-strength to fire one or anything /s) and only evil generic henchmen use polestars and crossbows. Mages only ever use staffs that are useless in close combat, and you'd think adding a blade to it and make a staff that doubles as a polearm would be nifty, but nope, remember the bit where only lowly henchmen use pole-arms.
As for comedy relief characters, you don't need to give them a weapon at all, just have them wack the baddies with a frying pan, I'm sure that's totally fresh and not done to death.

And the vilain weapon has to look as unpractical as possible with a shape that make it look like a torture tool and on which the said villain risk to empale himself at any moment due to it's shape

Funny part is, for most the kaiju genre it's been a hassle to get the start of the shows (the giant stompy death monsters) to leave their trailer until the final act. It's taken stuff like Pacific Rim and more recent Godzilla films to cut the bullshit and go for the good stuff.
Eh I thought it was ok I can see they wanted to build suspense but they just failed to deliver the money shot on time

@@Superkid33 the script is written, and I've been pitching it around. Nobody has picked it up yet for development. They keep using the words "contrived" and "you're not a writer are you..."
It may have to do a rewrite. I'm thinking 2029 at the earliest.

You forgot about the 'mega badass'. An emotionless, gritty or irreverant character that saves the say by killing the monster with a weapon that would just be a mere toothpick to it in reality(Beowulf, LOTR, pretty much any video game featuring giant monsters(Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, Dragon's Dogma).
At least in dark souls and(to a lesser extent)monster hunter, it takes like 147 hits with the weapon to kill it, and the big boi monster can kill you in 4 hits.
To be fair in Tolkien’s universe Gandalf is a powerful deity and not just a mere wizard
7:00 actually, the "we were bored" thing could be turned into an interesting reflection on human behaviour when not given an outlet for mental stimulation outside of their job, but that might be more about an alien movie rather than a monster movie. Most people are just here for Godzilla, which is understandable.
