It's time for a heavy dose of Charles Bradley brand soul like never before
Best comment of all time🤣
hehehehe
True story. I just discovered this jewel. I texted my son and said to him; we are going to go and see him!! He asked me; is he still alive?? I googled it and found out that he had passed in 2017. What a sad disappointment.
Brotha, I just discovered this as well. tonight. Feel you.
VERY sad indeed. I discovered his music a couple of years ago. To learn that he had passed was a true disappointment….. same goes for for Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Both WERE PHENOMENAL talents that didn’t got exposure until late in life.
I Just discover in 2024. Believe me, I Love him so much and unhappy 'couse couldnt hear this before 😢
He essentially didn't get his flowers until very late in his life 2011 I believe so most people didn't get to enjoy his presence before he passed.
rest in peace charles bradley
I remember listening to this performance on the radio during my lunch break. What a genuine, loving person, and an amazing performer on top of it all. He will be so missed.
Damn he died? What a genuine loss to music. I'm glad he got to taste fame before it ended, that guy worked hard to get where he got and you could feel it in his music man. So much gahdamn soul and raw emotion. Fuck.
No way!...I just found out about this because of your comment...that's so sad. Wow I wanted to see him perform. One day maybe I will in another place...
@Nunya Business So many folks chuckled in sad agreement ...and then was immediately embarrassed by the thought and filled with guilt by the smile you forced on them.
Take this up-vote that so many wasn't willing to share.
Oh.. and RIP CB.
He died?? I just discovered him.....nooooooooooo.
His voice makes me want to cry. I was so sad to discover this man's music and then learn that he died 4 months earlier. What a strange feeling... Can't wait to watch the documentary about him. Thanls to Big Mouth for making me discover his beautiful music.
It hurts so bad
but at the same time it is heart warming to know that he spent the last years of his life knowing he had been sucessful doing what he wanted to do. A better fate that growing very old and losing the ability to do what you used to love doing.
What a legend.
same I was damn need to see this soul live but he had been gone
Watching him perform “Changes” live hit me HARD….😢. Wish he and Sharon Jones were still with us.
Watching this guy makes me want to cry. Named my daughter Charlie after him. Watch his documentary. This guy was amazing.
Im crying my eyes out watching this. For all the beauty of this incredible man and for the sadness that he died far too soon. But his music and spirit will live forever and inspire so many people.
Extraordinary!! One of the greatest singers that ever stepped on this planet for sure!
Rest in peace Charles.
Couldn't have said it better
"changes" is pure soul, not only the genre, but real soul in the shape of a song.
18:17 this version of "Changes" makes me cry !
Every freaking time.
I wept. As Tin Man once said : ‘’Now I know I’ve got a heart because it is breaking.’’
@@ledinochat I say the same thing about my brain. :)
He is not sweating, he is crying with his entire body. SUCH EMOTION AND INTENSITY.
We all say that.
Thanks KEXP to keep this man alive forever!!!! Thanks Mr. Charles Bradley!!!
This performance and a glass of whiskey is the way to bring in a new day.
that last song was incredible! the guy is a treasure in this times of soulless sounds
Best fucking cover of Black Sabbath ever made.
So much soul he's melting before our very eyes.
This man was and still a beautiful soul.
Seeing this saint live was a priority the minute I first heard his music a few years ago, absolutely gut-wrenching it never happened but sets like this are a massive step to making up for it. One of the most underrated performers of his generation and deserves to go down as a legend. Rest in peace sir, I can assure you my children will hear your music
RIP CHARLES BRADLEY🕊🕊🕊

Charles Bradley is one of the greatest artists of all time--a late bloomer (Born in 1948) Charles grew up in poverty and was a journeyman moving often and working a number of different jobs in different cities-- he moved back to Brooklyn New York where his mom lived in 1996. Daptone records found Charles and recorded and released his 1st and tremendously successful album "No Time For Dreaming" in 2011--Charles was then age 63 years old!!
I was lucky enough to see Charles Bradley perform live at Festival Internationale De Lafayette in Lafayette Louisiana, and at the New Orleans jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans. His music reflects his life long journey! RIP Charles Bradley
This is insanely good.
How I would have liked to have seen him live. He deserved every bit of success he had, and more. What he did with "Changes" is just amazing. He's with his Ma now.
Hay canciones que me conmueven hasta la médula, pero "Changes" es de esas que logran hacerme llorar
Es un cover de Black Sabbath

31 december 2020: I listen to Charles for the first time in 2011 and have always found his live performances stunning! Not a fan so I listen to him through youtube only a few times per year. While listening to him today I was as usual loving it ! I wanted to see him live at the end of this pandemic and decided to check his wikipedia and discovered his story and also his death... 2020 has been tough. Rest In Peace and thanks for your talent and music Charles.
great performer, great band
Too much soul for this earth, we're not worthy I imagine god is really enjoying himself now, cant wait.
Rest easy beautiful. You are bathed in the light of total love. You are missed.
He has a classic style obviously, yet it feels fresh and pertinent. It sounds like the music of the times.
Incredibly talented and deeply expressive...a tremendous loss
I will miss this soul of souls
I feel my legs give out everytime he sings. RIP to the Screamin' Eagle of Soul.
I'll love you forever Charles

I don't even know how to describe how incredibly beautiful this is.... no words can describe this...
Blessed be the soul of Charles Bradley. He was beaten down most of his life and eventually found his point of content and a short order of redemption (it seems). God rest his soul because he gave a lot of himself in his life. I wish Charles Bradley had a few more years to share his brilliance with us.
RIP, Charles!
