    In my opinion, Horowitz is a bit too heavy handed for Debussy. The music should sound as if you were hearing it through a veil. Somewhat dreamlike. Horowitz is from the Russian romantic school which sounds much different.

      I suppose Horowitz was giving "impressionistic" music a different treatment, for lack of a better word. That treatment doesn't seem to work, however. Just as Zimerman was giving Rach 2 a Chopinesque treatment. A bit too feminine in the latter case.
