I am in an assisted living facility and have the luxury of listening to this masterpiece from beginning to end. I will turn 62 in June this year and have been a big fan since I was 30. This album is my favorite by far until they turn out another. I use to think they would be retired by this time. I'm eternally thankful they haven't. Long live METALLICA!!
Damn 2 Moon, not sure issues to be in that deal at 62, but Godspeed bud! Be 58 in Mar I think, Tallica since like early 20's. Every album, every song kicks IMO. Tallica will go on...Lux Aeterna! :) Metal on and best of life to ya!

Recently listening to 72 seasons, Hardwired and Death Magnetic. All great albums. Perfect for a different type of mood.
Death Magnetic is criminally underrated. The non-brickwalled version is incredible.

@@randith87 I don't have a link anymore. It's probably on RUclips. Brickwalled refers to the way the master two track mix is pushed for volume. Using compressors and limiters in the mastering stage (or allegedly mixing stage in this case), they make it super loud which the ordinary listener interprets as "good." The problem is, the end product ends up really lacking in dynamics - the low volume portions of the songs are no longer low volume relative to the high volume portions. The 'non-brickwalled version' came about when the band allowed the Guitar Hero folks access to the individual tracks and mixes without the brickwalling limiting and compression added. At that point, it basically escaped to the internet and everyone had a copy that was sonically 'better' than the commercially released product.

Both albums could be better. Some songs are too long, others have nice moments, riffs, solos, but something is missing, like a great fresh idea, that suddenly appeared and... disapeared. "Now that we are dead" is terrible, weak and boring. Many songs from Load/Reload have more energy - Until it Sleeps, Fuel, King Nothing etc....

In hindsight leaving some good tunes for later in life seems like a god send.
I was very suprised to hear one of my favourite songs of Iron Mairon on this album. Remember tomorrow after the Intro of Creeping death (one of my favourite songs of Metallica). As I heard this I was totally flashed and got goosebumps. I love this 💓

If this record weren't released as a double album, avoiding the filler tracks (basically the second side besides "Spit Out the Bone"), it could have been a strong one.
This would be fucking awesome album if it had the magnificient snare sound of St. Anger and the guitar sound of ... And Justice For All, and the bass-sound of "Rust in Peace" (Megadeth).

some are standard 2 Cd set,but mostly Deluxe 3 Cd set .
I bought new but very cheap .
To me its a solid album,better than
Death magnetic .
