FFDP is one of the most inspirational bands I listen to, one day I might manage to get lucky and go to a concert. That is definitely one of the major parts of my bucket list, next one down is definitely a Disturbed concert. Maybe a concert with both of possible?

It won't dissapoint. I went to see them during smackfest back in 2010 and it was the best concert I've been too for sure
I hope to go see them sometime too! I did see them once back at Mayhem fest in MA or CT and it was a blast! That was my first exposure to them, haven't heard of them prior. Looks like they will be touring with Metallica, Pantera, Ice Nine Kills and one or two other bands this coming year! The bad news, you gotta get tickets for the whole weekend, and the seats aren't cheap! Still, I'm going to try to make one of the shows.

The lyrics show how fleeting happiness is. You can be super popular, super rich, but there are still inconvenient crap to deal with and then the high of all the cool stuff wears off. A new purchase gives you a few days of joy then you return to your baseline happiness. The idea you can get to a certain spot and then just be super happy every single day is a myth.
I work around people who are happy continuously, and they have never suffered depression. It's incredibly frustrating. People who don't suffer depression, also don't seem to appreciate music as much. Depression seems to be caused by trauma. The people who are successful, often work twice as hard, to overcome that trauma. But the trauma is always there. Getting rid of the original trauma is the only thing that can ever truly make you happy. But our current medical system has no mechanism for healing trauma.
We need more artists that stand up in the face of threat....

This new album is so good, it's a statement of soberness, even ivans voice sounds cleaner, one of the most emotional albums out there. I resonate with so many of those tracks. You can tell that Ivan is in a new stage of his life, a life without alcohol.

I was @ the Hardrock "bar" in Las Vegas when Chris Kael was having his Chris Kael Pale Ale release the day of their concert @ Tmobile Arena. He was really nice, animated, and having a good time talking with people at the event-- was Jamming on their little stage there for a while. He even poured a few free beers for patrons. I've got some good pictures that day! Rock on 5FDP!
