Then we also have to talk about the fact that after years we are finally seeing the real Vitaly again, this is the strongest Vitaly ever, you can see that he has overcome the physical problems he had for quite some time. When I saw him against Ermes I understood that he was back, even if he only managed to take Gasparini to the ground once (and taking Gasparini to the ground isn't everyone's job), I saw that he was back to his old self. If Ermes hadn't received the lesson against Devon, (a lesson that did him a lot of good), and hadn't started training his hand and wrist, (it took Devon to make him understand that he has to train his hand and wrist, something he hadn't done since and years), he would have lost against Vitaly. He would open his hand and take him down like Chaffee did. so Vitaly is back and personally I put him between 4th and 5th place, I want to see the match between him and Georgi (but honestly I give Vitaly the favourite).

At 12:11 (5th round) it's a pin, so the final real result is 5-0. This match makes us realize how strong Ermes Gasparini is (right arm) because if Vitaly has been able to dominate Dave this way it means Ermes is a real beast.

Slipping from the russian is the issue, even Ermes, who has insane back pressure, said that it felt like his hand and fingers were going to get crushed throughout the match and while trying to slip
He literally couldn't he tried Vitali is widely known for his ability to not allow his opponent to even slip out to get to straps in the first place, heck even in many matches he has lost his opponents rare escape the match with him with there hand not at least partially injured and hurt he's a freak for sure.
Dave got injured last time and he had to spend time and money to recover from that. This rematch made that money back, put an ok show for the people, helped Vitaly with a win, still looked dominant in the straps.

Dave couldn’t even slip his hand out and get to the straps. Round 5 proved he would have done much better in the straps in 1-4. Finally! But overall, I’ve never seen him dominated like this.

Slipping from the russian is the issue, even Ermes, who has insane back pressure, said that it felt like his hand and fingers were going to get crushed throughout the match and while trying to slip

Dave got injured last time and he had to spend time and money to recover from that. This rematch made that money back, put an ok show for the people, helped Vitaly with a win, still looked dominant in the straps.

Crazy stuff man, even a great can go from still being formidable and crushing into his late 40s+ and actually beating a fricking prime laletin here which Dave did like what year and half ago...to now losing what is it like 5-6 straight matches against both guys he should still be able to crush and against formidable elites such as again Vitaly here.....makes me really grateful for having John Brezenk and what he did in 2021-2022 and Todd Hutchings and Jerry Cadorette of late as well, still being legit world rated in there fricking early/mid/late 50s is incredible against prime peak freakish European guys to! but eventually its got to go and get to the point of no return and unfortunately it seems like Dave Chafee unless its a fluke or he needs to take time off to recharge! but he may be about at that time! and likewise with Breznk who up until the Irakil match was really doing some incredible incredible things! that leaves Todd Hutchings and potentially jerry Cadorette as the old guard American legends still remaining in the world rated elite mix.
