When you mention it's impossible to get buttermilk, you can easily make it at home in just 5 minutes with just milk and lemon juice or white vinegar! Just add some to the milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until it curdles.
I think the channel works so well because it satisfies our needs for you two's content without having to endure the long wait that the videos in the main channel have (due to the amount of effort all the drawing takes). As Daidus said, it's a way to produce enternaing videos that doesn't require nearly as much time for you, which I'm glad for!

7:07 if you can’t find the exact ingredient in a recipe, look up what you can substitute it with and see if you can get the substitute ingredient. I do that often like if a recipe calls for shallot, I usually substitute it with onion since I usually have onions at home.
Very true! Substitutions are sooooo handy in cooking. If you, like Emily, have a recipe that calls for buttermilk, you can actually add a lil lemon juice to a cup of regular milk + let the mixture sit out for a bit as a substitution!

I FEEL the same with what you guys said about how social media affects kids. It's so sad seeing them not appreciate art and treat them as content. How social media grooms kids to start worrying about their looks at such a young age. How kids dont have spaces for them anymore and have to navigate in adult spaces; so many kids are just spilling whatever on Twitter rather than go online and play on miniclip or disney games. Also it's very nice to watch you guys draw and just talk about random stuff. It's motivating me to draw

I have been enjoying this channel so much ygs, I have been following you two for yrs now. This year has been a little tough for me. Havent drawn much cuz it feels too daunting but its so peaceful to just watch you draw. Because all of these just about have been very culturally important staple foods! Bread for example was something with a lot of variety and was a must-have for so many people! There was bean bread which was made when flour wasnt available, but was seen as a "lesser-than" bread, so bakers would try to hide the bean-y taste. There was also 'common folk' bread vs 'rich people' bread, and then bread for horses (which was edible to people but not enjoyable.). Sailor bread (hardtack) was a very VERY hard form of bread that could stay consumable for YEARS and was often stored on ships because of this. Rice is a staple crop as well and very important in many dishes across the world, although I haven't looked into it's history as much yet, noodles are also a very culturally important food. Potatoes were also grown during hard times because of how much energy they can give you. Sorry about the bread ramble but if you read this much thank you! Anyone who knows about rice, noodles, and potatoes more in depth feel free to ramble because I enjoy learning the history of foods.

7:07 if you can’t find the exact ingredient in a recipe, look up what you can substitute it with and see if you can get the substitute ingredient.
I do that often like if a recipe calls for shallot, I usually substitute it with onion since I usually have onions at home.

I FEEL the same with what you guys said about how social media affects kids. It's so sad seeing them not appreciate art and treat them as content. How social media grooms kids to start worrying about their looks at such a young age. How kids dont have spaces for them anymore and have to navigate in adult spaces; so many kids are just spilling whatever on Twitter rather than go online and play on miniclip or disney games.
Also it's very nice to watch you guys draw and just talk about random stuff. It's motivating me to draw

Not everyday has to be an art day, so I shouldn’t push myself over the she trying to get myself to draw well when some days, just aren’t the day!

Like it rekindled the feeling of how fun it was for me to draw or how enjoyable drawing can be even if it doesn’t look that good or amazing. 12:33 a bit of a ramble bUT, this question when viewed objectively (instead of as your own personal fav to least fav which is valid ^^) is genuinely very difficult! Because all of these just about have been very culturally important staple foods!
Bread for example was something with a lot of variety and was a must-have for so many people! There was bean bread which was made when flour wasnt available, but was seen as a "lesser-than" bread, so bakers would try to hide the bean-y taste.
There was also 'common folk' bread vs 'rich people' bread, and then bread for horses (which was edible to people but not enjoyable.).
Sailor bread (hardtack) was a very VERY hard form of bread that could stay consumable for YEARS and was often stored on ships because of this.
Rice is a staple crop as well and very important in many dishes across the world, although I haven't looked into it's history as much yet, noodles are also a very culturally important food. Potatoes were also grown during hard times because of how much energy they can give you.
