I work for a BMW dealership in Ontario. We received one of the 1st 8 series in canada, I was fortunate enough to be called onto detail duty of said car! I was far too terrified to touch anything really haha, although i will admit the car sounded AMAZING at 3k rpm. I refused to rev it any higher lol.
This a Sport Sedan, they need to increase that speed limit. Especially for those German Autobahns. Nice Video Max, absolutely love the quality of the Vids. 👍

Hi, I think that it would have been quite interesting to see if it can hold 260 in 7th or even 8th gear sou you could “cruise along” comfortably at 260 since it looked so relaxed doing 260
about the HUD-Screen. I think BMW should include an option where you can choose to have the standard analog ones being displayed digitally. Like many other cars have that and it could be like a switch button in the menu or smthing.
I do like the way at each angle change the speedometer increase by 20kph. From 0/20/40/60 to 100/140 to 200/260 although I do like analog gauges better as well.
Appreciate you are trying to show the performance but when you hit the limiter, why not shift up to 8th instead of riding the 6th gear? Would give a more realistic impression of its high speed cruising capabilities
Its because he has the gearbox in "Sport" or "Sport+" w/e... but then it sits at the perfect power range to take of when needed to. Whatever speed he's going. Put it back in normal mode, it would probably hit 8th gear instantly.
It should be available with options that increase the luxurious feel inside the car, like metal buttons and wooden trims in the dash, its not impossible, the x5 with literally the same layout has wood and the 7 series or even the 5er have metal buttons...
Best looking BMW? It's in my garage, my Sakhir Orange M4!! Here in the US, a way more powerful but way less expensive alternative would be the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye, 797 horsepower supercharged Hemi V8. Top speed, around 195 mph (313 km/h).
I think they limited it because if this thing could do 300+ km/h the difference between this and the M8, in the 8-series line up, would be to little... There would probably be a lot of people choosing this over an M8 because what would be the point of spending thousands more on a car that has the same top speed and only minor deferences.

Cool video but I don't agree with the statement that it's a 8-series (90's) reincarnation. The model is nowhere near the old 8. It's just a 6'er rebranding like you mentioned around the 4:00 mark. I expected BMW to honor the 8 series legacy not dumb it down. The 850csi was incredible, this is 'just' a coupe.
Daniel Sadjadian Most cars have a locking software to prevent tuning or de-restriction. Same for the latest range of VAG cars. There isn’t any company that can write software on it since their computers aren’t ‘cracked’ yet... They can use an external ECU, but you basicly lose your warranty right away.
Jelmerize On the contrary, piggyback tune won’t void your warranty depending on where it’s from and what it does although a piggyback won’t remove a top speed limiter.
This car is so cool, it would be almost impossible for BMW M to make the M8 A LOT better, increase the top speed, sound and some M visual accents and thats about it.
I've had one with 26k miles and I've had it less than 2 months and the drive chain went on it ... had it repair which the company I had it from paid for ... got it back and a day later the drive chain went on it again 😢 not sure if I should get rid of it now
