+Holdyour Plums Remember it well, it was in the 98/99 season. The season where we scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes in the play off final to eventually beat gillingham, almost as good as the aguero moment
Tom Maroney certainly seems like it, we're nicknamed the "soap opera club" for a reason. For as long as I can remember we can never do things the normal way, always making it incredibly tense in games we should win
I support Watford too mate, and I have to agree. One of the greatest moments in our club history. But on the world stage, I think this was incredibly special.
Being a Watford boy, I will always remember Deeney's goal v Leicester. It was unbelievable to see and absolute pandemonium ensued. I just remember nobody wanting to look when Knockaert took his pen, and then within a split second we look up and it's down the other end and Deeney banged it in. Then everyone just charged onto the pitch even fucking Zola couldn't stay on his feet. May not have won the play-off final, and since then Leicester have made miracles by becoming PL champions but that day was unforgettable
That City goal still gives me goosebumps eight years later. I'll never forget that moment the ball left Aguero's boot, just yards from where I was standing, and it felt like the entire stadium held its breath until the back of the net bulged. A moment I never thought I'd ever see in my lifetime. Although I'd argue Dickov's goal in the 99 play off final was probably more important, as that one saved us from the doldrums every bit as much as Jimmy Glass' goal saved Carlisle from extinction.
I remember the Birmingham game. I was going absolutely mental with them as i had the draw on my 8 fold accum! Happy memories. God bless Soccer Saturday! Bring on next season!
TMLBSportsHD Even so. If you are selling your only keeper for the money you need to bring in a cheap keeper or atleast have some 17 year old kid to stand in goal
My team was relegated from the football league in the last minutes of the season so I know what heartbreak Scarborough fans were feeling. However these were all highly dramatic moments which will probably never be forgotten,
Born in Watford, Carlisle by blood. I don't mind people who seek teams like Manchester United for trophies, so used to hearing the same thing of 'Who are they? Why on earth would you support Carlisle?'. But I feel you'll only TRULY appreciate the passion of the game when you support lower league teams. And it's a proud feeling to have Carlisle and Watford side by side in this top 5.
Yeh coz right now we're shite getting beat by a team who's nickname r the glovers but away games the amount of fans wot travel to places even tho the miles away from teams
Merson says "This is the most unbelievable drama I've ever seen" Yet he was at Anfield on the last day of the 89 season......OK Merson, whatever you say.
I'll say Glass scoring for Carlisle. Scoring a late goal is dramatic enough but it's even better coming from a goalkeeper. It's also nice to see the 1999 soccer Saturday graphics. Aguero was dramatic too
That watford goal is better than aguero's, the fact they were facing a penatly against them. The fact the penalty was saved. The fact the then went and scored at the other end from that penalty. Unreal. Imagine being a watford fan? Many heart attacks that day.
I was there at Bolton (me being a blues fan) and my dad said we should leave and I said we should stay to the end. It was mad that the smallest player won a header to keep us up. I lost my dad for about 20 mins because he ran down 😂
The Watford one is always the craziest for me, Leicester would have gone through even if the scored stayed 2-1 to Watford since Leicester had the away goal, Championship history
on loan goal keeper scores last minute goal to prevent the drop wtf
chapalang cos Carlisle are class
LewisPlays yeh
Jimmy -glass- class
DOUGIE 06 fuck Carlisle worky reds for life
Football eh? 😂 madness
Jimmy Glass should have been number 1. Carlisle wouldn't exist now if he didn't score that. His goal literally saved them
Thank you I’ve finally found a fellow blue
Definitely the best football moment but not the best Soccer Saturday/TV moment because it was just an bloke on the phone 😂
Biest Carlisle fan

and I’m p sure it killed Scarborough years later

You spotted that too? 😄
+Holdyour Plums Remember it well, it was in the 98/99 season. The season where we scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes in the play off final to eventually beat gillingham, almost as good as the aguero moment
Tom Smith Nice one. You've moved on a long way from struggling to beat Gillingham.
Good luck with the rest of the CL..!!
+Tom is that the only way City can win a game? by scoring two goals in the 90th minute?
Tom Maroney certainly seems like it, we're nicknamed the "soap opera club" for a reason. For as long as I can remember we can never do things the normal way, always making it incredibly tense in games we should win
I love how Paul Merson got the City game, I think it was meant to be.
that man city win wasnt even that good.. watford should of been number one; meant more to people
I support Watford too mate, and I have to agree. One of the greatest moments in our club history. But on the world stage, I think this was incredibly special.
it wasnt even like out of extreme odds! you could of easily won against qpr!
I don't support Man City. But the circumstances that were at stake, it was incredible for them to win the title at the last moment.
what stakes? a win against qpr.. should of finished it off earlier
Pfff who needs drama, soaps, telly or films? We have football. That's all we'll ever need.

Who's call was it to sell the only goalkeeper they had ?
+jackie boy The only reason would be financial issues

Jimmy Glass the last minute goal that all last minute goals should be judged by, no higher stakes than the death of a football club.

That watford goal is better than aguero's, the fact they were facing a penatly against them. The fact the penalty was saved. The fact the then went and scored at the other end from that penalty. Unreal. Imagine being a watford fan? Many heart attacks that day.
