- This cop was on patrol in the middle of the night in the freezing cold and found a pit bull tied to a porch. He rescued her and took her to the animal shelter, but knew he couldn't leave her there. So with the help of Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue he decided to adopt her!

This is the 2nd policemen I've seen on Dodo who rescued a chained up pittie (the other guy was Officer Pascale of NYPD). Thank God for Officer McCombs, his compassion, and his parents who raised him right. May the Lord keep you safe, Eric, as you patrol the streets of Detroit and thank you for what you do daily!

I work for a animal rescue and it breaks my heart seeing how scared the dogs are we get. I really wish people could treat animals better all they want is love.
Nothing like a cop baby talking to this dog he rescued, and decided,
“ hey, I’m gonna take care of this dog”
Touched my heart to see him with this dog, truly was meant to be!

Honestly we rescued our dog shadow from a puppy mill....she ran between my dad's legs and sat down choosing us. She CHOOSE us. My parents took her home. Found out about the puppy mill called the cops and shut the discusting fools down.
So true. I've had a lot of geriatric rescues who just scream and scream at me when I come home barking for attention and I always say" I see you ,you're important!" And I swear they calm down

definitely a huge step up from the cops that do SWAT entries all wrong and end up killing dogs/kids/grandmothers/the occasional actual small-time criminal who while they may deserve some time or whatever aren't giant threats to society, that's trufax.
It's great seeing him do that pits have bad reps because of their owners.

Absolutely right! That's a REAL man. Not ashamed to show he cares, is loving to the dog. It's not for show. Sweet guy ends up keeping her and makes up for all the bad things she went through. Rescue dogs are the most loving. Need a lot more guys like him.
