    Hi Nadine ..I am over 60 have fine fair/silver hair in a shoulder length bob, believe me when I say I have tried everything ( no expense spared ) on products to increase volume and density..the only product that works for me is Kerastase Densifique shampoo and conditioner. My hair looks and feels fuller and my silver hair shines which is a difficult thing to achieve..I also take vitamins and eat healthily.

    I really appreciated the quite in-depth science in this video. I’m an Olaplex girl myself (no.2, weekly 4C shampoos, 6 and 7) but this video has got me interested in this new product. I found this video far better than a lot of the other bond builder vids here, which tend to gloss over the science. Thanks!

    Please do a deep dive into nails…ageing, ridges, vertical cracks. Generally thin, weak and peeling - ahhhh. Cant do gel nails to cover as it wrecks them further.

      @@NinaN-eq4fy thank you so much for your wonderful answer. I am exactly the same as you. I had loads of lovely long full of life and body wavy hair and now even though others can’t see it as I had so much hair I’ve lost 50% of my hair and it’s so “stringy” frizzy and dull. Mine wasn’t from COVID either. I also went to see a Trichologist and had blood work. Found out my T3 is borderline waiting to see a doc to get everything ruled out. Unfortunately K18 and Olaplex don’t work for me as they are heavy on the protein which means my hair gets even more crispy. But going to give a go at everything else along with the rosemary and peppermint oil as the person below said. So informative 🙏🏼,, as you said after bond builders( currently using K8) I tend to miss the shine so I use shumura camellia oil and run it thru ends to give it a gloss … I have to be careful as it can get heavy but if I get it just right adds a little shine. My question nagging in my mind is the oil working against the bonds as I don’t feel I’m making headway of ‘stronger glossier hair’ despite all the preventions ,…

    Hello Nadine, I have been following you for a few years now, and I don't understand what you mean when you say that your hair is damaged...? Are you talking about what happened with a bad hair do years back....But after so many years, your hair has grown since then!!
    If this can help, I would like to invite you to check your hair when it drops out, and you will most probably notice that the bulb is there, meaning that the hair doesn't break from blow drying and so forth, but that it has a shorter life time on your head.
    Furthermore, take a look at all women with long hair, and you will see, that just like you (and me) , the hair is shorter in front than at the back (it only grows to a certain length then drops), that's seems to be the way nature has decided with women's hair: Lizz truss, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mariah Carey ....
    These bond builders may help by giving more texture, BUT WILL NOT HELP THE HAIR FROM DROPPING OUT!😔

    Tried both olaplex and K18, no difference at all, expensive and they give no moisture to the hair or make it soft. I know that they aren’t conditioners. Best products I have used are Michael Van Clarke- 3 more inches, the pre wash treatment is really great all have no silicones. Also, nobody ever talks about the quality of water with regards to hair.

      They aren't meant to give Moisture to the hair and that's not what bond building is. Softness isn't a sign of health and it's just the outer layer K18 and Olaplex go deep into your hair and actually repair the fibers of it

    • @NinaN-eq4fy
      @NinaN-eq4fy 2 года назад +7

      @@RachelDee In a nutshell Olaplex is cheaper and used as a pre-shampoo treatment and you need to wait for about 10-20 minutes. With k18 you use this after you shampoo ( no conditioner) and dry your hair, then you apply the product and wait for 4 minutes before styling. So Olaplex takes much longer but it is cheaper, with k18 being more expensive per ml. In terms of performance and result I don't see huge amount of difference, my hair is wavy and mostly damaged by heat and balayage treatment. I personally would go with k18 because it's much easier to use, and use Olaplex in between. If you have time, and normal day to day damage and are willing to put in the work go with Olaplex and save yourself the money. But if your hair is extremely damaged, overly bleached then I think k18 might have a slighter ege. Also note that with k18, you can't use a conditioner, so if you have easily tangled hair, bare that in mind beforehand.

    K18 is a conditioner! Albeit a good one.
    Living proof does NOT do what olaplex does because olaplex has 8 world wide patents and nobody else can do what olaplex does. You say it works on the surface. It does not. It goes inside the hair where the disulfied bonds are. Also, olaplex DOES protect undamaged hair by strengthening it. Over proteinizing hair can make it brittle and break. Know that to be careful of products that boast protein. Where do you get your info because clearly you have been misinformed.
