The incredible airport is just a small portion of the facility though. Do a Google picture search for 'Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg' and see for yourself. Needless to say worth a visit if you're ever in that part of Germany. Maybe even as a destination in itself, depending on your level of interest.

Easy. People are fickle, and can and will pick apart every minute detail for a flaw. Actually, extremely unsurprising....remember, your on youtube.......the internet. Absolutely amazing & breath taking. I have been a plane enthusiast for many many years but I have never come across anything as wonderfully realistic as this creation. If I had such a thing in my home, my family would probably never see me at the dinner table again. You've won my admiration hands down. Perhaps someday I will be lucky enough to see this display in person. Bravo !

Miniatur Wunderland sets the bar very high and is the benchmark for all other model makers to follow. It is great how vehicles, ships, trains and planes interact with one another and provide contunity throughout the day and night.
I was there just a few weeks ago.. It was stunning, breathtakingly incredibly asweome to just watch this realistic majestic miniature world. It was also timeless whilst being there, in an old storagehouse that happened to be the one of the largest historic ones.

The re-positioning of the Concord looked like it could have caused a bit of havoc with the passengers. All the more reason to remain in your seat with safety belts fastened.
I found this by accident and truly amazed by the details put fourth. So much going down at one time it's like a actual airport. Kudos to the people involved in setting/creating this. The Concord is a real treat as they have been discontinued. Thanks for posting this

Don't know if there are any videos of it, but look up the model airport of Billund, Denmark, made entirely out of Legos, at the Legoland in Billund. It looks like they use some similar technology as this. Still cool as heck.

This is just so good, I really liked model railways all the detail and everything that went in to making them. I never knew anything like this existed, amazing it almost seems real life, well done everyone who built and runs this.
When I went through the USAF air traffic control school in Biloxi, MS, we had a setup very similar to this; except, us students had to move aircraft around with our hands.
WOW!! I'm literally blown away by EVERYTHING. This is by far the most exhilarating, breathtaking and amazing scale I've ever seen in my life. Great job doesn't even come close or any other word for that matter. If I had lived in Germany...you best believe that I would be at this place nearly every day. OMG 😱

This facility is amazing and I recommend a visit if you get the chance. The incredibly detailed airport seen here is just one part of the 'Miniatur Wunderland' in Hamburg. Do a picture search and see for yourself!

You have to be kidding me! Everything looked so real. There is no telling how much money they’ve spent on this. The only thing missing is people coming and going on and off the planes. Then you will have workers roaming around. haha! Job well done to whom ever designed this! 😊
The building costs up to now are 36 mio € 😉 But the airport is just a small part of the complete thing. Actually it is an exception - most of it is model railroad.

There is a documentary about this place, you should see the computer room which operates all these rooms. This airport is run by computer, which is controlled by team of people. They have different rooms, some with trains, soon supposed to be Venice replica added with all people in it. All the models run automatically by a computer, they even drive automatically when they low on batteries. AMAZING!!!

This is absolutely amazing. It looks so realistic. Especially at night. Did you build this? or is it just a place that you can go visit? No matter what it is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I can't imagine how long it took to build this. I've seen a lot of train models, with the train station and houses and cars and people. like this, but I have never seen one that even comes close to the realism of this one. I'm going to watch the whole thing. I just thought I would watch a couple minutes just to check it out, but it's so interesting. Thank you for sharing this with us. Have a good day.

The engineering that went into this is amazing. Take off, landings, taxi ways and vehicles traveling on the roads. I can see how the plains take off and land but the taxi ways and vehicles look like they move with magnetic movement. Fantastic engineering.
Kriss Kross: Somehow the entire display lives from details. It is known as a model railway, but when visiting, the trains soon become decoration, as the dioramas show an incredible amount of details, making them more interesting than the trains.

Wow. Having built model kits before and tried to get them on stands, I have to say: it is absolutely astounding how they managed to keep the planes balanced on those two little rods while moving around, and to mechanically release the rods when the plane lands / connect them when it takes off. I guess there must be some kind of clamp system inside the body of the plane, because conventional joint sockets would definitely not be secure enough. Perhaps the clamps are magnetized as well. Even so, the precision required to connect the rods on takeoff is amazing. German engineering is really something!

Michael Gillispie: It is in Hamburg, Germany, and open to the public, as the entrance fees from the visitors supply the money for adding more sections - the airport is only one part of this model railway system.
Very cool setup. Interesting at 1:43:31 Concorde starts moving pass red line as Tu-154 is also moving on its green path. Later they collide and Concorde is checked by attendant. Tu-154 is odd aircraft, it has issues in real world and on the toy set. It's either shut down, goes down by itself or just catches fire...

@@mati7710 Well, probably those seeing a space shuttle on such a small runway, and then seeing it taxi. The shuttle has no jets to taxi, and it's rocket fuel is spent. It also needs an extremely long runway to land on, even with the assistance of drag chutes. With all that said, these things are make believe. The shuttle is fun for the kids. I loved this

The proper scale speeds mean you can for seconds almost suspend disbelief that it's a model. Hard to imagine the amount of hard work and imagination that went to this

The incredible airport is just a small portion of the facility though. Do a Google picture search for 'Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg' and see for yourself. Needless to say worth a visit if you're ever in that part of Germany. Maybe even as a destination in itself, depending on your level of interest.

Absolutely amazing & breath taking. I have been a plane enthusiast for many many years but I have never come across anything as wonderfully realistic as this creation. If I had such a thing in my home, my family would probably never see me at the dinner table again. You've won my admiration hands down. Perhaps someday I will be lucky enough to see this display in person. Bravo !

Don't know if there are any videos of it, but look up the model airport of Billund, Denmark, made entirely out of Legos, at the Legoland in Billund. It looks like they use some similar technology as this. Still cool as heck.

When I went through the USAF air traffic control school in Biloxi, MS, we had a setup very similar to this; except, us students had to move aircraft around with our hands.

This facility is amazing and I recommend a visit if you get the chance. The incredibly detailed airport seen here is just one part of the 'Miniatur Wunderland' in Hamburg.

There is a documentary about this place, you should see the computer room which operates all these rooms. This airport is run by computer, which is controlled by team of people. They have different rooms, some with trains, soon supposed to be Venice replica added with all people in it. All the models run automatically by a computer, they even drive automatically when they low on batteries. AMAZING!!!

This is absolutely amazing. It looks so realistic. Especially at night. Did you build this? or is it just a place that you can go visit? No matter what it is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I can't imagine how long it took to build this. I've seen a lot of train models, with the train station and houses and cars and people. like this, but I have never seen one that even comes close to the realism of this one. I'm going to watch the whole thing. I just thought I would watch a couple minutes just to check it out, but it's so interesting. Thank you for sharing this with us. Have a good day.

The engineering that went into this is amazing. Take off, landings, taxi ways and vehicles traveling on the roads. I can see how the plains take off and land but the taxi ways and vehicles look like they move with magnetic movement. Fantastic engineering.

Wow. Having built model kits before and tried to get them on stands, I have to say: it is absolutely astounding how they managed to keep the planes balanced on those two little rods while moving around, and to mechanically release the rods when the plane lands / connect them when it takes off.
I guess there must be some kind of clamp system inside the body of the plane, because conventional joint sockets would definitely not be secure enough. Perhaps the clamps are magnetized as well. Even so, the precision required to connect the rods on takeoff is amazing.

As far as I know, there are no clamps or magnets for securing the planes.
I think to improve, the taxing of the plane needs to be a bit slower.

Very cool setup. Interesting at 1:43:31 Concorde starts moving pass red line as Tu-154 is also moving on its green path. Later they collide and Concorde is checked by attendant. Tu-154 is odd aircraft, it has issues in real world and on the toy set. It's either shut down, goes down by itself or just catches fire...

@@mati7710 Well, probably those seeing a space shuttle on such a small runway, and then seeing it taxi. The shuttle has no jets to taxi, and it's rocket fuel is spent. It also needs an extremely long runway to land on, even with the assistance of drag chutes.
With all that said, these things are make believe. The shuttle is fun for the kids. I loved this
