On the pedal assembly theres two sensors for the cruise control and the front one is for the brake lights. Just give it a pull and it will come out far enough. Sorry for the confusion still learning
Very informational. I'd recommend cleaning and re-lubing the white plunger on the brake booster prior to install and don't forget to install the dust shield. I'm also running the S&P mk4 pedal adapter and being the pedal location is the same height as the brake pedal, its hard on the ankle for long drives and a somewhat safety issue. Also the 45 degree angle of the clutch master can cause some issue, some have a 90 degree barbed nipple which is much better IMO. Nice work Jake!
Hello Sweden. Really appreciate the kind words. Ya haven’t been getting much views on this series but it’s helping a lot of people and that was my only goal.
I'm pretty sure the mk4 pedal assembly is way different in shape. Also from the mk3 on the brake booster will clip in sort of like the clutch pedal has on the B4 passat
I’ve done a bunch of 02A/J swaps in mk2s used a b4 cluster for the first time. Mine extends the slave too far, is this an issue? The clutch release arm touches the flywheel. All new parts clutch wise.
So I remember when you were gathering parts and scored a bunch of stuff from that white MK2 GTI, why did you take the non A/C box? Is that required for these swaps? Or is it just a preference to not run A/C and that makes for a cleaner install? Seriously great work and the information you are providing is invaluable to the VW community 👍.
Thank you sir appreciate it. No the non a/c box is not required. I was going to put it in but I cant seem to find information on what wiring will work. Ya it's just cleaner
Hey Jake! Just found your channel and am excited to see all the content. I just purchased my first VW ( 1984 rabbit gti ) and she’s old but willing lol could you give me some pointers on all what I should check/look for to replace or work on?
Congrats on the Rabbit man. There such fun little cars to rip around in. I'd just do a basic overview, check or change the fluids and do some test drives with it. I have a loop I test drive cars on just incase I have to pull off the road and get towed home. Good luck with the rabbit
Hey Jake! Huge fan of the series! Im swapping a 1.8t AGU in my 1986 mk2. Is it possible to use the mk2 pedals? Because g60/vr6 parts are really hard to come by in Denmark. Keep up the good work!

@@periodtdot Yes. I tried fabless on my corrado and it's not as high. I don't like how it mounts but once you get it all together the pedal position feels better.

I watched this at work and now can’t wait to get home and do it. Love these videos
Your welcome glad it's helping
Well done Jake. Love the time and detail you've put into this.
Super clear info! Great progress!

Keep up the great work!! These videos make my swap so much easier.
This gave me flashbacks of having to replace broken pedal assemblies back in the day.
Hell yeah Jake keep it up man! Can't wait to see this thing done!
Documented in wonderful detail, that helps me a lot with my own project. Thank you and have fun with your projects!
Love the Video. Cant understand why your views are so low dude...=) Wazzup from Sweden btw.
One of the best RUclipsrs. keep it up.

Great video man! Keep it up!
Dude Great Vid!!! Never seen alot of stuff yall are doing
Very nice!
Great video! Useful info while I’m stockpiling parts before my swap
Very helpful video
AWESOME WORK!
Great videos! Sorry if someone already asked this, but why not use an MK4 Golf or Jetta pedal assembly?
Hey Jake, great video thank you for sharing this info! Do you have any info on how you wired the DBW pedal?
Making good progress it is hard to shoot, edit, and work at the same time good job !
Yes it is. Thank you
Excellent video, helped me a lot.
Where is the link for the pedal adapter? Great work, I'm going to swap my mk2 with this guide
thanks
Glad im working on the corrado lol hydro all day
very nice explained. big up
a link for the mk4 gas pedal adapter?
S&P automotive
very helpful, cheers man
Glad it helped.
Why not mk4 peddle assembly? Not a direct bolt on? Reason I think is no adaptaters for gas peddle?
not sure why lol. I just know the b4 passat is the perfect one.
I'm pretty sure the mk4 pedal assembly is way different in shape. Also from the mk3 on the brake booster will clip in sort of like the clutch pedal has on the B4 passat
Great job with these vids, cheers, liked and sub’ed
Thank you. Where you from?

Ya it's just cleaner
Can we use pedals from golf 4 and is that easyest
It takes a peddle cluster from a B4 passat? I thought it was supposed to be from a B3 passat.

Jake RawSon thank you sir! Can’t wait to be apart of the VW culture!
Man I need info on the pedal wires
Where we have to buy adapter for pedal gas
Hey Jake!
Huge fan of the series! Im swapping a 1.8t AGU in my 1986 mk2. Is it possible to use the mk2 pedals? Because g60/vr6 parts are really hard to come by in Denmark.
Keep up the good work!
Yes you still can
Im watching this now and i am going to do swap in my mark 2 but the question is the masterbrake cylinder is original mark 2?
yes you can. But if your going to be driving fast and hard I'd upgrade it. Already some vids showing you how on youtube
@@JakeRawSon thanks a lot i know what to do :)
Hi Jake where did you get the plate for the throttle pedal please?
S&p or Fabless make them
Iirc, the sensor on the clutch and the second sensor on the brake are to turn off the cruise control for cruise-enabled vehicles.
Keith Hache damn yep think your right. Going to have to move that first sensor theres no way it will touch the brake pedal.
@@JakeRawSon not move you can pull out the end and have it come in contact with the brake pedal.
Thanks Keith yep just did that to mine.
Can you use a mk4 pedal assembly and brake buster bracket on the mk2?
Connor Cooper I don’t think you can. It’s either mk2, corrado or b4 passat that I’ve seen.

Hola México,
No, no funcionará. Ellos son diferentes.
Espero que todo esté bien allí abajo.

How did u fitt the underdash plastic? im having trouble because Passat pedal clutch is no bent Like mk2.
didn't use the plastic
@@JakeRawSonso ur not covering the fusebox with anything?
hello jake where can I get the adapter for the gas pedal thanks?
fabless or s&p sells them
How much of this would be applicable to a mk1? I'm aware that the mk1 and mk2 platforms are somewhat similar. I'm working on a bdf 24v vr6 swap
Not much. Mk1 way different
Can I use vr6 corrado pedal or G60 mk2 pedal
yes they both work
What ever happened to the MJ?
Still sitting in the same spot. Lots of ideas but there all really expensive. I’m just glad I have it so when I have the cash and time it’s there ready.
Crewmanche. Just one idea lol
Would mk4 gti pedal assembly work as well?
Also bracket for brake booster
Not sure about the mk4 peddal assembly

O man I feel your pain right now. Last year when I did that it sucked. Did you take off the pedal adapter already?
ruclips.net/video/i7splOcNW9o/видео.html
look on this video at 4:12 is where you can see how much I have off the assembly
Jake RawSon gonna remove the gas pedal and see if that works and if it doesn't, any tips on removing that screw head?
HI where can i buy the pedal adapter thx.
There’s a link down in the description 👍🏼
Hate to bother man but looking for the link to that pedal adapter?
S&P or fabless make one. I've had s&p on two cars. Not really happy how high the pedal sits. Trying fabless on my project now. Cant wait to drive it.
@@periodtdot Yes. I tried fabless on my corrado and it's not as high. I don't like how it mounts but once you get it all together the pedal position feels better.

Why not just drop the whole column out? Thats how I do it. Little more work up front but easier all-in
I've had the worst luck with mk2 pedal assemblies. They're junk.
... throw away, those VAG Crap. Haven't to do with proper Cars, pure timewasting 🙈
