Make sure you torque the flywheel and pressure plate in a star pattern and it's a 90 degree turn not 180. I said and made a couple of mistakes in this video. It was a very busy day and there was a lot going through my mind. Thanks for watching and I hope this information helps someone.
On holding the flywheel, there's also the old "spanner" trick where you put a bolt through a hole in the side of the block and slide a small box-end wrench over it; then use the flywheel dowel or an old pressure plate bolt for the open end, which will hold it all while you torque it. Keep up the good work Jake!
@@JakeRawSon 👍👍 way back in the day there was a guy who had cut up old flywheel gears and made "toothy" holders. They were epic. *scratches beard. Rummages through parts bin and grabs grinder/welder*
Lots of great info in every video you put out! Today we're pulling out the old tired 8v and finally putting the 1.8t in my mk1. Keep up the awesome work!
Appreciate it man. I was supposed to be in Cali for some family stuff this spring and I had a couple cars I was going to do some vids on. But with this virus it shut it all done
@@JakeRawSon Very good to know you're in California at times, sucks to hear about the cancel in plans but hope this all will pass over soon 🙏🏾 I'll follow you on Social mainly IG i_am_mooreiv I in central Cal have a 03 TT 225 and mk4 jetta also 98 ZJ 4.0 with np 242 swap :) think we could be friends ha
Hello friend I hope you are well I like your videos how you explain everything part by part and it would be nice if you gave online classes for people who want to learn mechanics that would be much better clear we would contribute something to absorb your expenses. Thank you and I wait and read my comment
Hello Jake, great job 👍, as my 5gearbox is far to short, I want to swap with the tdi one for top speed and also mpg. What should be the best match and also what else is involved (gear selector, drive shafts etc) any help appreciated 😊
What is the difference between the TDI rear mount and standard MK3 mount? What is the advantage of using the 02J shift tower in a 02A? Why not use the 02J transmission? Thanks.
Tdi one works perfect others you have to modify. The o2j box with the o2j tower is the best shifting feeling in a vw. I have an o2j trans but wanted to use the o2a g60 trans. The gearing is totally different and I want to feel that. If I don’t like it I’ll just switch one out.
@@JakeRawSon I have an mk1 cabriolet I'm planing on doing this 1.8t swap. I have the engine and a bunch of parts. Looking for an 02j transmission. This lowkey threw me off. Lol it's not necessary right.

I can't find tdi bracket where I live
@@mohammedrogiey5019 I know the corrado g60 will work and might be a couple more. But you might have to grind or modify it to work properly.
Thank you mate

Thanks Keith for giving another way for people to do it. I think I’ll try it next time

Great info on the mounts and nice work! Don't you love all the bolt up swappable parts VW generations have?
Love playing with adult legos lol.

Hi Jake, did you manage to get the reverse switch to work? Did you use the 02j switch or the 02a switch? Thanks
For the reverse lights?
Hey Jake can I use a Mk3 Jetta pedal cluster for my Mk2 VR6 swap?
Keep up the good work.

im looking for a 2004 tt front wheel drive automatic valve body . used preferable
Isn’t there a metal gasket that goes between the block and gearbox/transmission that you forgot?
garethwd1 yes there is. No I didn’t forget about it
What mounts should be used with stock mk2 subframe?

Jake great job as always man, i saw you mentioned in the premiere a link about why the TT intake is the best to use. Do you have that link?
I don't think it's the best to use. But the intercooler piping flows better I think. Start around 13:16 ruclips.net/video/MvzoRs0dy3g/видео.html
Thank you Jake, definitely looks good piping wise.
what’s the benefit of running the g60 trans rather than the stock 5 or 6 speed?
Different gear ratio for what your using the car for
Hi where you get the intake manifold?
Found on facebook market place. From an audi tt
What is the purpose of the shift tower swapping?
Kev G the mk4 shift Tower and shift box is 100% better feel. Then when you add the sigma 5 it’s like you have one of those $1000 aftermarket ones.

Can you use the Audi TT gear box?
Yes. Any 5- speed o2a o2j trans.
6-speed you will need to change some things
Do you know what you need to change for a 6 speed o2j? I don’t know what mount i need to use.
