I did a "hands on the throttle" event with Barney at the Steam Railroading Institute. On occasion, he and I still talk when he is operating PM 1225 during the North Pole Express season. He's a great and funny guy. Nice video!

Anyone know where I can find the rest of the episodes somewhere officially? I do not have a local television provider, hence why I'm asking. Really loving the series though!

How do they make money so that they can run their engines

  • @1chuck96

Jeez! I guess that when you can't run a REAL Steam Locomotive...these will have to do. By the way, I know nothing about these "freaks" of the rails, (my Friend sends me these videos just to piss me off), but since "it". (not she), looks like it burns coal...so where do you store the coal??? Oh wait, now I see the tiny protuberance on the rear of the engine that looks like an oversized briefcase. Obviously the machine has a dual-stoker, (meaning 2 guys handling coal into this "mighty beast" in 2 large pieces at a time). Hey, whatever floats your boat! I probably wouldn't have such a problem with this outside of thomas the tank engine on the Strasburg line...God, that makes my skin crawl and possibly screws the kids up that come to see it not knowing what a REAL, (again), Steam locomotive looks like.

These ARE real locomotives! They can't all be 4-8-4's or Big Boys! These small industrial engines are often more accessible and can give a great steam experience too!
