Well done young man, you stuck to your guns, found a great lens at a budget price, learned to use it and cope with the weight. Capturing the beautiful kingfisher for the first time is a wonderful experience, I could feel your emotion. Great Stuff, look forward to the next video. 😊
Well done! Wonderful kingfisher pics 👍 Mike Lane FRPS has done a great RUclips vid on photographing kingfishers, well worth a look. Highly recommend his channel full stop. Proper old time bird photographer.
Congratulations! I used to live by the Lea Valley park and kingfishers were reasonably common there. Not that I ever got a decent photo, I wasn't quick enough with my old manual 300 2.8!
@@RussandLoz where I now live in Christchurch New Zealand, our local kingfishers are pretty common especially now in winter when they gather for a yarn before becoming territorial again. They aren't as vibrant as the European, but they are just as quick! Fun fact: they are closely related to the kookaburra!
Russ do you not run with 2 autofocus buttons l have one for stationary @ 1/320 then one for birds in flight @ 1/3200. You could not have got a better perch if you tried lovely.
On the Z8 programme one of your function buttons to recall setting, you can select a fast shutter speed and toggle between the two with one button press
Nice one Russ, nothing better than your first Kingfisher. Great photos!
Congratulations!

They do fly by in a flash! Even the filming of it flying away was in 5x slow mo

@@isotechimages.9130 So you have two fn buttons for different focus speeds?
@@RussandLoz I do but l am on a Canon, so am not over familiar with latest Z cameras but imagine you could do something very similar.
