Need one of these for my GTS! Great simple video 👍
Thank you!
After watching you chop the shift rod I found a rusted out one in the garage that could have been the prefect donor. Oh well it might get used when I get an upgraded shifter for my 1275 rod change build in the next 12 months
I wonder why KAD cannot make it ready to fit, 3D print the collar and the washer is a no brainer
riderzinc thinking the same
I was kinda curious about that myself. I wonder if maybe they don't sell a ton of the standard ratio ones. Maybe their big sellers are the short shifters.
Cole, nice one.
Thank you!
I'm curious on which were the symptoms that made you know that you needed to change the shifter. Good video, as always.
It hit my knee. The angle was visibly just very “off”. Hahaha
Hahaha. Welp, that seems enough of a symptom.
cant you just buy the plastic ring, spring and washer ? I mean I always want to keep the old original stuff so if it takes longer zu do the conversion i can put the old one in and can drive the car
Perhaps you could find a washer but the plastic ring is no longer produced. The spring already comes with the new KAD Standard Shifter.
oh okay didnt know that ..just a thought
How does the shifter feel in terms of precision and slop while in gear etc. Does the removal of the lift to reverse help these at all? Thanks
To be completely honest it feels virtually no different at all. The only noticeable difference is the reverse collar which by itself was a totally worthwhile upgrade reason for me. I really like that the shifter doesn't have to lift up at all anymore.
@@classicminidiy ah right. I was wondering if the removal of the lift function would tighten up the feel or not
@@classicminidiy have you had any experience with one of those 'slickshift' pieces that bias the gearbox towards the 3-4 gate? I'm going to be putting one on mine along with a KAD quickshift and I'm excited
Cole your going to upset the purists real good 😂
It’s fun to push buttons every once and a while. Change is hard....😁
@@classicminidiy can't make an ommlette without breaking a few eggs. Top video mate
A shifter what's not ready to use. How cheap of the manufacturer
Personally I completely agree. This is a common theme amongest mini parts suppliers. They sell a new timing cover but for example they dont include the gaskets. KAD sells a super nice high quality shifter but doesnt include the plastic retainer. It's pretty annoying.
@@classicminidiy I won't bother purchasing one then lol
