It is fun to be a rock hound in New Mexico. There are many more minerals in NM. Lot's of old volcanos and old mines. This is a wintertime hobby the snakes are more active in the Summer.
I found white, purple, and blue opal in Rockhound state park. As well as Smokey agate, and tons of Orange Jasper. Also, the Killbkrn hole is closed off now, its a major transport for the cartel. We also found Malachi, and azurite near mescalero in an old silver mine.
We are on Indian Divide above Valley of Fire. I found Lanerite and Turquoise at Lake Sumner. I have found so much Agate and Chalcedony and Jasper. In Los Lunas it's EVERYWHERE. Obsidian Apache tears. Pudding Agate. So many gorgeous carnelian palm stones. I find it in road gravel and parking lots. Moss Agate crystallized branches perfect stones for Runes. Really excited about Three Rivers Campground soon.
I'm a recent NM transplant, had to move here cause my ex is from El Paso and she brought my kids to this area when we broke up. Seems like there's lots of opportunities here!
Nice vid, but you can sure tell you've never spent much time in the Beautiful Land of Entrapment. You need to get down here, get some proper green chile and brush up on your Espanole
Bc I only know about the Desert Rose claim out near Blanchard, NM. Im taking my 13yo son on a rock-hounding road trip thru NM, so I need a fluorite hot-spot that produces - bc my son is hard to impress & he's used to the public fee digs in SoCal (where ur pulling out CHUNKS of gemmy tourmaline LoL With have birthstone being turquoise & mine being peridot, I was thinking a triple fluorite, turquoise & peridot expedition is New.Mexico,😁
