It was interesting to see the different construction of the buildings and its quality. It's great to go along with you on your travels. ... Cheers...

Love every single minute of this video, the interactions with locals in particular! I also agree with your view that listening comprehension is super important when learning a foreign language. I obtained a Higher Certificate in Spanish, but my listening skill is ghastly due to the lack of practice in listening to how other people talk :-(
Amazing content! Guangdong is one of those unique places in China that we pretty much use anything we could as food or medication ingredients. If you happen to stop by Guangzhou, I’ll be happy to show you around and explain some local ingredients in food, drinks and medicine. That grassy plant you saw in the shop is called 鸡骨草, we use that for soup with mostly pork ribs or just pork meat, it’s said to have the effect to “cool ur body down” from 上火。
and the white chalk-like white pieces are probably dried Chinese yam (aka Wai san/Huaishan/淮山). no idea what the bottles of white powdering things are though. other bottles look like they could be things like dried shellfish pieces, there's quite a few bags of guopi (they don't look aged enough to be considered chenpi), maybe some are huamei, the long strips of brown could be dried ginger? there looks to be a bottle of dried small apricots(杏脯)? if there's things that look like beige wrinkly sticks that's probably angelica root, etc...
