Really underrated vehicle, sadly not much of a lineup at 6.0. Really wish it could scout also (meanwhile the m56, m18 and even the frickin asu85 can...)
You can pair it with the Jackson, but France has *amazing* lineups at 5.0-5.3 so there's not much incentive to move up to 5.7-6.0.

please explain how a 2 man crew can reliable scout with such a limited viewing angle. if one crew member scouts you cant operate other functiones. m56, m18 and asu85 has a commander

@@anton2417 Idk, how can a manual roof machinegun be operated by the commander from inside the tank. Or how scouting puts a magical pin on an enemy tank that everyone can see, and why can we scout through buildings, how can a barrel be repaired in under a minute. As someone else said there are a ton of unrealistic features to prioritize gameplay and having fun over realism. Is a game pal, not a simulator

3 things would be perfect to make this little ELC better:
1/ That it be considered a light tank to get scooting.
2/ Give it it's 360° turret rotation once at full stop like it was the case IRL
3/
And it need the rest of his family to come in the game, at least 3 more variants in mind:
-One with a fully rotating turret and 2x30mm autocanon.
-Another one, also with a full rotating turret, but another 90mm.
-And finally not sure about the turret °, but a last variant with 4 (I also saw 6 I think) 120mm recoilless gun, a kind of small Ontos!
It would be just fun to have a lineup of these little tanks ! :D
how can you scout with 2 crewmembers without compromising aiming/driving?
@@anton2417 you dont need to leave your task just to see and report an enemy tank's presence
@@anton2417 Asu57 can scout when the vehicle didnt have radio, ELC Bis have 2 radios. If they can add scout to the Asu, the ELC should be able to.
IRL, the ELC is supposed to be able to turn the turret fully, but only stopped...
the one with the prototype gun would be better for the 360 turret.. but because the 90mm was installed traverse was not possible. Driver also sits in the turret.. he would be basically blind if it rotates anymore than the 20 degrees it has.

By the way, about the turret rotation.
The original gun for it was a 75 that had full rotation on the turret. When they upgunned it to the 90mm gun, the tank would flip due to the guns weight and recoil. That’s why there is a 15 deg limit.
Oh? It would be fun to be able to rotate the turret 180 and fire over the rear
I want all of the other ELCs, and the other light french prototypes.
Also this turret can't go 360 in game because otherwise the driver wouldn't be able to touch the pedals and look forward since he is turning with the turret

Use a loadout of the Soviet rocket artillery (bonus if you include the RBT-5 tactical ballistic missile launcher for SCUD LARP) in conjunction with drones as artillery support at top tier.
You may want to hold off on this until the funny big rocket Katyusha drops.

I am beyond grateful that they fixed the ability to shoot down trees. I play a lot of hull mounted open top TD's, and it was so painful to play without being able to take them down.

the model with full turret ring is correct, it just cant traverse that while moving irl or it would cut the driver in half so gaijin just made it not fully traversable(unlike kv2)
that's the first ever tank with which i made a nuke, and that's my favorite tank, exactly for that, powerfull gun, good mobility, and smol. That's french engineering at it's finest!
No one plays France, not just the ELC Bis. This thing and the Amx-13 90 are my favorite. The 90mm heat is absolutely amazing for light targets plus it has a great reload rate
I don't know *_how_* that thing manages to look both adorable AND badass at the same time! haha
It's so smol, I'd classify it as a Tankette! And any video where Phly plays a Tankette, it's a good video 🤘❤️
3:50 the model is perfectly fine, the turret SHOULD BE ABLE to do a 360° but only when it's not moving and the 60° when on the move, so it's not a problem on the model, it's just gaijin lazyness.

ELC is a little monster in the hands of someone competent enough to know where they can impact the map. If you're not that competent or aggressive, or even that confident, it won't have the same impact. But with a lot of practice and some knowledge, you'll excel with this little sneaky devil.

Fun Fact: The ELC bis can unlock the modification crew replenishment, even it hast only 2 crew members... pretty useless mod then...!

i think alot of people shy away from the france line because of the early game shitshow that is their tanks. their early tanks are horrid and getting out of them hurts
Really fun to see this one come up. This tank is obviously much less cool in arcade where I play, but it wouldn't be so bad if I could get the HEAT round in it to perform like you're getting it to perform. For whatever reason, despite hitting similar areas as yours, it seems to do much less post-pen damage for me than for you. Is that a difference in arcade/realistic as well? Is there something you're doing to improve post-pen, like certain angling or something, that I don't know about? Honestly curious; I feel like this tank could be a lot more fun for me if only I could figure out how to shoot it right.
i was a big fan of military equipment especially vehicles in my teens. found your channel about a month ago now and i had to get my wwII airplane and tanks through the years, books out. oh and i have installed war thunder im terrible but love play it

so something that Gaijin gets wrong with this tank is that A it's designated a TD when it's a Light Tank and it should get spotting. also when the tank isn't moving the turret should be capable of rotating completely. the only thing that would be an issue is that the tank would be locked into not moving until the turret reaches back to it's normal turret rotation range while moving.

I had no idea that this tank was in WT, kinda surprised though that they went the WoT way and didn't give it the full turret rotation at stand still like the real thing has. At least WoT got that one thing right and it's classified as a light tank in that game.
It's always nice to see French tanks getting some love, the AMX ELC is my favorite tank ever.
Sad to read that, people really don't even look at what is in the French TT.
That's why we never got handful of other nice stuff, only one there and there...
@@mathieu722 Back when I played WT there wasn't much at all, since it was around when ground battles were added. I think back then there was only few tanks and only soviet, german and usa tech trees.
I've never gotten around to play WT that much, it's one of those games that I rather watch other people play.

The jumbo 76 that you killed was really unhappy lol. He called you a few unsavory words when you one tapped him.
no one talks about how to use the camera lock to lock the orientation of your main cannon barrel, keeping the barrel at a specific point. all you have to do is press a button and it unlocks and you have control again. but, it only works with tanks with a coaxial gun.

The elc came with a smaller gun at first with full turret traverse. But the hull was flexing and bending when firing enogh shots sideways with the bigger gun so they restricted the newer turrets rotation. But the hull probably has all the gears still :)

I read somewhere that the elcs turret cant turn fully because the gunner/commander/loader has to twist their body in order to fully rotate it
I think the turret rotation decides what WT classifies most tanks as, if it had a full 360 turret in game it would probably be a light tank

I remember when they added this thing to WoT. Biggest frickin troll vehicle ever. Hug tank hulls under their guns and just torture them. Was highly amusing. Wish it was at least close to as good in WT. Add scouting and give it full turret rotation when not moving would be a damn good start.
With bushes I like the top wiesel agtm tank as a rat vechicle. at least at this tier everyone doesn't have thermals

you have heats shels with the m36 (the tank you are researching 10:17 ) at 5.7 its a pretty good tank
Just noticed you have grass disabled when in the gunner sight. Maybe I should do that too. It is quite a hassle in some games.
I quite liked the ELC Bis as well, and I used it at 6.7 because of the lineup problem.

Turret drive is possibly limited, but fully capable of three-hundred degrees of rotation, likely due to having the whole two crew thing. One has to drive but both in turret, since pedals and steering cant really be rotated I assume they artificially limited the turret for the driver's sake and safety.
The only thing Gaijin got wrong here (due to this crew limitation) is the driver side is the loader side so you really shouldn't be able to load with driver engaged on tank controls.
The ELC was a lot of fun in WoT.

So I’m on the French tech tree journey and when I got this bundle of joy LeMme tell you how much I love French 6.0 this and the Lorraine are great anything after 6.0 is a slight struggle still but this tank is great if you’re sneeeeaky
