It’s so sad she was born into a well-known family, well-known name, talented, beautiful, had opportunities most of us could only dream of, money, a dream home, friends and family who loved her - and Margaux still couldn’t find value in her life. Mental disease and addiction can take hold of anyone at anytime. We are all so blessed to be here everyday.
✨What a beautiful lady Margaux was. I knew of her story already but I didn’t know some of the things you talked about in this video. Thank you Jordan for telling her story so that others can remember her. May she rest in peace. ~Love&Light♥️C.
Hemingway was an old Connecticut family that dates back to the 1630s and the original New Haven Colony. There are cemeteries in Plymouth, Ct and in the East Haven area where most of them are buried. One of the 1st graduates of Yale was a Hemingway. Part of the family -- Ernests and Margauxs part -- moved to Chicago from Ct in 1842, including Ernests grandfather Anson, who was to become a noted Union Army anti guerilla fighter in the Civil War. My point is the 'Hemingway Curse' seems to have been something that developed in the 20th century with Ernest's father. Before that the Hemingways -- in the 17th, 18th and 19th century -- lived long lives.
With the Kennedys, the story has been: One of the ancestors back in Ireland got a young woman in the village pregnant and refused to marry her, bringing disgrace to her family. Someone in her family then put a curse on the Kennedy clan as revenge. I know they have a huge family tree with an inordinate number of members, but bad things have visited upon that group for a long, long time time now. Too often to be written off as just coincidences, imo.
I watched the old documentary film about her and it’s so sad. She dealt with so much trauma. Thank you for covering her Jordan. Edit: Mariel talks so harsh regarding her late sister.
First . Her grandfather did not die on a farm in Idaho. He died in his home in Ketchum Idaho. I know this not only did I live block's away from his home. But My sister in law was the Nanny for Mariel Hemingway her sister.
Thank you for this interesting and respectful memorial tribute Jordan. Although I was aware Margaux and her Grandfather, Earnest Hemingway, had taken their own lives, I had no idea there had been so much tragedy in the family, it's easy to see why the tabloids would pick up on a 'family curse'. Such a sad story.
I remember when Margaux passed. She was an It girl when I was in my late teens and there were always photos of her in celebrity magazines. Such a charming home where she passed. It's sad to know about all the pain behind the image. Thanks Jordan. RIP 💖🙏🌄🌈🕊️🌹
I noticed from reading the gravestone that Margeaux was five months older than me, and I do remember her presence very well in the 1970s. That business she was involved in can ruin and destroy you. It has done this with many others.
Jordan, your research is top notch, and I hope people appreciate that you're doing the narration off the top of your head, rather than lamely reading some text copy. That takes command of the info. You're the real deal, and thanks for all the informing you do of famous artists work, and keeping their memories alive.
Margaux was allegedly molested by her father, and I imagined that's why she suffered depression! Mental health was not a top priority at the time of her death! Childhood trauma is a root cause of depression!
Such a sweet beautiful soul. I used to look up to Margaux as a young teenager in awe of her beauty when she was modeling for Faberge perfume. May she rest in peace.
Fun fact: another of Margaux's co-stars in 'Lipstick' was Perry King. Perry King's grandfather, Maxwell Perkins, discovered and was the editor for Ernest Hemingway.
Ho visto il suo volto nella home di youtube, ed ho aperto il video. La ricordo benissimo, era bellissima, una fata. In Italia era molto conosciuta, anche per via di suo nonno.
The press was cruel to her in Lipstick. It was ahead of its time...she played a strong woman who fought back & they tore her apart for it. There was nothing wrong with her performance. She was truly beautiful inside and out. I guess her book, American Girl:The Life and Times of Margaux Hemingway" will never see the light of day now? I was really looking forward to reading that. I"m really glad Mariel broke that chain and didn't end up falling victim to it herself.

I remember going to see the movie Lipstick when I was too young to see it. It left me with a weird feeling. And It did seem like her sister was more of the star in the movie. I understand her battle with epilepsy, I have it. When I was 13 my doctor wanted to put me on phenobarbital, but my mom didn't want me on that. I didn't know she died of an overdose of it 😢 I thought she died of SUDEP, sudden unexplained death with epilepsy, this is what can happen if you stop taking your epilepsy medication. Very sad story. RIP Margaux Hemingway.
She was a stunning beauty. Plagued by mental health issues and low self esteem. Her family and partners sound like they contributed and exacerbated her lack of sense of self worth. RIP 💝🕊🌈 I hope you’re walking amongst the angels, where you deserve to be ✨🙏😇💫
So sad. These beautiful women face unwarranted criticism, when in actual fact there is absolutely nothing about them that needs changing. R.I.P beautiful Margaux 🙏
Jordan, she received a lot of criticism on LIPSTICK (1976), but I have the movie now on Blu-ray and she did a great job for her role. Her younger sister, Mariel is in it as well, and Mariel talks about it on the movie format and about being in the movie with her older sister. It's exceptional.
I'm 65 bipolar with major depression. It's tough but life is worth it. Stay on your meds and free from alcohol and drugs. Try drinking Kava and getting acupuncture for relaxation. I recently started Ketamine infusion therapy which is working well but I'll never stop seeing my Dr and therapist or stop taking my meds
What a nice tribute. I was googling..and there were 3 sisters..but the other sister Joan also known as muffet is still alive and in her 70s. No mention of a sister who took her life other than Margaux
Back in 1976 in Newport Rhode Island I had an opportunity to meet her duing the Tall Ships event. A very good friend of mine helped put the event together in Newport and was escorting Margaux that day. Of course being a young foolish 19 year old old I blew him off and was a no show. She was beautiful and talented. A lost soul. RIP Margaux.
Those houses are really close to each other. Depression seems to be the curse of the Hemingway family. Suicide seems their way out of their trouble, not just Ernest Hemingway's father and on both sides of the family. Mariel's maternal grandfather also committed suicide. I think it is the inability to cope with illness, loss of career and aging.
So sad, Jordan. I remember when this happened, but really didn't understand her story, other than her Grandfather was Ernest Hemingway. So incredibly sad! 💔
Margaux's life was tragic, and I feel for her spirit. May her spirit one day return to find what she missed in this life and find her true happiness As a different person, but same spirit in order to complete the journey unencumbered by fame. It will happen on it's own, as I believe it will.
Quintessential 70's tall, slender Gucci Model. I often think of Margeaux when viewing Tom Ford's iconic Gucci designs. RIP Margeaux....she had it all over Mariel, (my opinion). Generational curses are no joke.....
Well i guess it was in my other universe but I remember the story that she wasn’t discovered for a long time, guess i got my actresses mixed up or universe shifted again 🤷♀️saw LIPSTICK at theater when it came out, very disturbing movie
I thought Margeaux did well in Lipstick. It was nice for her to help her sister. It seemed like a Norman Maine situation. Esther became hot stuff and Norman was forgotten. I do understand Mariel wanting to stay away from he sister due to the drugs and the morons she was around. I, also dont like being around addicts. I have no use for it. People must save themselves
Her sister was in a magazine once and talked about what she did to be happy and healthy. I think she lived on a farm and had a live in boyfriend. I think she was doing good to avoid the curse on the family. I think she was an author and so forth. I think her sister was determined to have a better happy life.
Wait a minute. Margaux was a middle child between Joan (Muffett) and Mariel. There were no other full siblings. Both Muffett and Mariel are still alive. What other sister committed suicide?
I think Margaux was a beautiful woman. Mariel beautiful and talented actress. I loved her so much in a movie I’m not sure too many have seen. “The Creator”, with Peter O’Toole. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@scott_simmonz Interesting... Any more info on this? If Gematria is involved, usually either it's a psy-op, or, it was murder or sacrifice. That good 'ole "33"... Masons in the family? Contract renewals? Money? Hmm. You've opened a whole new can of worms here...

She had talent , she was solid in Lipstick. An incredible model.
Yes, very memorable part.
Margaux was stunning. Always thought Brooke Shields and Margaux could be sisters.
Actually knew both Mariel and Margot back in early 70s from Sun Valley Idaho.
Thanks again for sharing Jordan and Jah

The Hemingway family has made a tradition of suicide. At least going back to suicide in her paternal great grandfather’s generation
