Yes....The top one was embedded into the bottom camper and held together with rachet straps. Gas station in Broomfield...owners were fueling up and headed into the mountains (also stocking up on snacks). The top one almost looked home made to begin with it had a lot of bondo on the fiberglass.
@@RVingWithJoe Looks like they lost the roof cap from the Jayco pop up camper. No way do they have a weather tight seal between the Jayco and that tilted smaller camper. Rain water would flow in, fill up. destroy everything. So more like something that would be headed to Mexico for parts or rebuilding.
heard intermittent tire squeel at a traffic light once . 2wd ford ranger was pulling a 2 axle camper , front tires on truck barely touching the ground , fronts locked every time he hit the brakes , busy 4 lane road in town . recipe for success !
When we had our 5th wheel my friends called me Tow Tow as we double towed our boat or our flat trailer with the Can Am behind our f-350 King Ranch, our 30' Keystone 5th wheel.
Look up Doberton orbiter. Man made a motor home from a milk tanker in a one car garage. Will also float he had it in the Gulf of Mexico and also traveled around the world in it
4:47 actually that is a dually pulling a 5th wheel ,pulluing a flat trailer, w/ a 4 wheeler, and a side by side , AND what you missed was the miniature 4 wheeler in the bed of the side by side!!!!👍🏼.
That first one with the fines for trying to pull an unsafe trailer was also overwide, if you were to get caught trying this in many of the states the fines would be in the tens of thousands of dollars
That was definitely a mobile home, not a travel trailer n serves the idiot right to have been fined. It should be towed with a commercial rig wide load signage as well, n is meant to hit a destination n park permanently. Too many stupids in this world eh! lol. 🍻
A cool idea that a British company manufactures is the Multidrive trailer for your semi . Basically it's an extra long drive shaft that transfers power from the drive axle of the semi to the axles on your trailer.....a lot are used by the military because they are almost impossible to get stuck
Those Dollie’s turn a 1/2 ton into a 1 ton. That last Holiday Rambler the rear tires are not drive wheels just overload axles with airbags you know if they end up with 60 bushels of beets at the end of the harvest. Great video
At end of video, the wheels you showed can be a kin to the drop wheels on large, semi trailers. They help take the weight from whatever you’re towing, rather than dispersing more weight on the tow vehicle driving with them on your truck. Vehicle will actually decrease the weight of your vehicle overallnot increase
The click-bait bus camper-trailer dromedary hybrid was in Eugene Oregon last week. The old boy pulled a flatbed car-trailer with two old Harley Davidson choppers, 1960s style 'shovel-heads'.
Oversize Annual permit for one state is actually pretty cheap. (That's what ya want, a single trip oversize permit has the DOT give you a specific route to take, annual (yearly) is wide open to go whatever way you want to crash, because you don't know how to route an oversize/overwidth load) Good luck folks.
That tandem axle Class C has 1 drive axle with a weight bearing 2nd set. Most long haul bus companies use the same setup on thier equipment. The Jayco TT rebuild is a great idea and painted in a retro vintage scheme. I would have done the interior like an old style diner/ coffee shop.
That was a tag axle behind the extended Ford Class C on your last camper . You can tell difference in the axle hubs. Funny stuff! And 2 thumbs up for wearing Matts shirt! I still miss Lizzy though. She is one good 1st class welder. I once towed double car trailers. It was out if necessity, but with trailer brakes linked to the Dodge Diesel 2500, it towed the loaded trailers just fine. And stopping was not an issue. Just had to buy fuel at truckstops because if the combined length.
I have an idea for my own turduckin…. It would be built on a school bus and it would either be a 5th wheel toy hauler or a slide in truck camper. I said a 5th wheel because some have the bedroom and bathroom in the front overhang. My idea is to cut the overhang off and attach it to the cab of the bus then build a staircase so you go up to the bedroom or down to the cab. The rest of the trailer would be behind the stairs and be a roomy apartment with a garage in back. I could also use a truck camper installed backwards so that you can have access to the cab from the camper. The idea behind this design is to make a RV that’s a car hauler, not just a toy hauler. It’s been an idea that’s in my mind for a very long time. But my biggest challenge is tho build it, because I don’t have the work space, tools, or even knowledge to build anything. It’d be great if I could talk with someone who could help me put my dream rig together who has the tools, space, and knowledge to help me. Hope I haven’t violated any rules sharing my ideas here on this channel. But I love this channel because you tell us about people who have both good and bad ideas to share with us.
6 tires for my Van-Up plus 1 tire for spare 4 tires for the Four wheeler in the back of the Van-Up 4 or 6 tires for my tires for my AirStream 2 or 4 tires for my toy hauler 2 tires for my motorcycle
Man that dodge pulling that mobile home or whatever on that rigged trailer is an insane setup, I can't imagine how horrible that truck felt trying to drive it down the road LOL. That guy did deserve to get stopped, that is far to stupid for the road lol. I've done some real stupid towing setups but that is far beyond what I'd have the guts to try lol.
Those carnival caravans are known as dog trailers in Oz, and caravans like most use is a pig trailer. A dog trailers follow the tug without argument known as pitch and yaw, a pig trailer fights the tug vehicle with both pitch and yaw. Who are the smart ones?
I liked the positive comments much more than the negative. We all know how many idiots are on the road. I'd prefer you focused on the smart and kind. We can go to just about any RUclips post to hear negative observations and name calling. You seem to me to be the kind of guy whose been told (like me) "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." You did make me smile with the positive stuff. I subscribed in hopes you will continue to do so.
Is Tur-Duck-En legal here in Canada I remember seeing it done, way back in the 90s, when I was a kid, but I never knew if it was legal or not. 4:44, Chevy Power, the best power on four wheels. 7:20, it’s because it was a Ford.
at 3:35 ... is that what used to be some type of pop-up pickup box camper ... and the pop-up part is gone - replaced by what might be the top part of a small pickup box camper ... but it's got straps so it's not going anywhere ...
feel bad about the guy moving his house, should have done in on the week end when the 5 Oh were all on off duty time... tho when the tung weight goes up, the front end get lite, moving a 600lb aam1150 axle on the "farm made hitch" on my t-bird 200 miles on an interstate type free way. bounce at 85mph front end shimmy like driving over a patch of black ice 'do not over steer'. one trip to blow out the wheel hubs and bend the axles. advertised tung weight on the V6 was 300lb, as so the car has the V8 triton option to pull it down. anyways that truck has the same type/size of axle under the car now... and those trailer park trailers have steel I-beams under them, so the only thing to do in moving them is attach the axles and spring packs directly to their frame weird that its actually on a trailer. ether way their is a freedom of governance act so by the law of curb weight, that truck isn't going fast enough to cause a problem and the reporter is going to pay the bill for him... causing unwanted administrative nonsense. tired old 12 valve...
That hitch dolly takes some load off the back of tow rig. I used to pull a 13k pintle trl behind a heavy 3/4 ton. Same drivetrain as 1 ton just smaller springs and axle ratings. Squatted trk about 3" inches at hitch. Had to be real careful on load balance vs my dually i have now. Ive not squatted this trk more than 1/2 inch with same load. Just sent an email with some pics. He needed moved from brothers. Normal 2 hr drive on expressway. He was supposed to have out on driveway. Yeah not happening with e350. I locked 4lo with my 9k f350 and was scratching hard to get it on driveway. Changed back tires and comealonged it onto my equipment trl. Put 4 chains on it. Small ratchet strap up an over to hold a bad spot of exterior skin that was loose. I was fully legal but close to 13' high. 13'4" is max legal. And took side roads 45 mph max so it didnt rock too much on trl. Went through town where my church is and got some funny looks😅
The elderly portly hollywood special-effects company owner built his UniMog crew-cab with powered axles on the trailer. 'Kira van' or 'Kiravan', named after his granddaughter. . Electric motors at each axle-end individually spin at independent speeds to manouveur the trailer. Hook-up is simple, backing it into a campspot is easy.
when will you ever show your frame on your camper and the weld points? HAVE you ever checked the bolts or looked? just curious. Love your content still Just would love to see you endorsing a better rv...I.M.O.
@RVingWithJoe friend I'd sell it while it still had a warranty left. Can't lie. You've seen how they did me per my videos, an entire year waiting, (they did give my $ back btw, im not supposed to tell anyone) the new winnebago micro mini I bought, I put it through things a CHEVY 4x4 alone shouldn't have done 😉 8 months in hard use, nothing, absolutely nothing has failed.
Seriously, look back at my frame issues on mine. Double check yours. You put the miles on. You want to know your safe. Check the welds and bolts, especially at the rear
They're ain't no truck in Cali doing 55 mph... They're all pretty much doing 65... Auto traffic rolling at 75 vs. 65-70 speed limit... With a few doing 80-90 as traffic permits...
At 3:17 on that Ford at the Gas Station is not a Camper Shell. It's a Jayco slide-in pop-up cab-over camper, missing it's pop-up roof cap. The roof cap latches and some of the flexible wall fabric can be seen in the photo. With what appears to be a smaller slide-in cab-over camper strapped in/on the Jayco camper. It's all rolling junk as far as I can tell, not a usable camper.
wow joe at 1:14..... that's not a ford, not even a pretty or new not a ford..... and the Kodiak did you just support Chevy? what's wrong with a f550? next you'll be saying one of those campers named after a dyeing flame are awesome... 😁😁😁 (sorry again just messing with ya) I drive a volvo and have a tent...🤐🤐🤐
@RVingWithJoe just trying to help Joe. 😎 anything to help a guy that owns a Ford AND one of "those" rvs.. (likes and shares are likes and shares right 🤔)
Because you can take other people’s clips and talk about doesn’t make you right. For example. The mobile home that is equipped with a lock. If that trailer could come off it sure would NOT be because it lifted off that 2 5/8 ball. Some simple common sense would tell you 80% of the weight is on the ball by one the truck being loaded down. Number 2 the placement of the two axels. But then you don’t know the difference of a mobile home and a office trailer. 😂
